With the world being flushed down the U-bend

…I’m on holliday, off to Malta with SWDNRA on Thursday so now I’ll be taking a nap.
Sweet dreams to me.

Bon Voyage!

Why Malta? Do they have good beer?

He lived there for a while so I suppose he’s going back to visit old haunts.

Cisk and Farsons, and with Marsovin quite decent wines to boot.

Actually not really, I dont like going back as a tourist to places where I once lived and had a purpouse, it´s just weird somehow.
I desperatly need a break and SWDNRA hasn´t got a passport, Malta is still swimmable warm and we got a cheap deal.
Of course I´ll be nipping into Fat Harry´s though.

Some years ago we were in Zakynthos and returned on the last Easyjet flight of the season (3rd week of October?).

At the time there were no direct flights from CH during winter. The flight was so cheap that it allowed to go to a nicer hotel. The water was warm enough for 5 mins splashes

I had been looking around for ages but even after the most frantic googling everything came between 1000 and 1700 Euros. Booking dot com had the worst deals and I am not sure I would use them for anything.
In the end it was the local travel agency that set us up with flight, hotel for nine days, transfer; the works for 1032 Euros and no hassle with anything.
So I am quite pleased with that.

Wow. I’ve not used one of those since my student days. I never thought they’d have good deals compared to online given they have the overhead of shop and staff and only local customers compared to the global reach of a web-based agent.

It’s always suprised me how many of them there are in Switzerland.
They always seem empty of customers and have faded photos of far-away places hanging in the windows.

Pysical shop based travel agencies seem to be going the way of the buggy whip makers.
But it seems that they still can get the better deals.
