Withdrawel of pillar 2 to retire in UK, timeline question

Hi,

Retiring and returning to the UK soon.

I understand that the pillar 2 can be transfered to a low tax canton vested benefits account, then taxed at source and transfered to my uk account.

Question is, in order to have this payment not added in with my income from the year here in CH, and therefore liable to the full taxation, what would the best timeline be?

Should I wait several months in the UK before I transfer or is dergistering and arriving in the UK adequate?

If anyone has experience of this I would appreciate it, thanks

Lump sum payments are not treated as part of your income but taxed separately, so I do not see any advantage in delaying the request.

However, you may want to read more about the topic to answer the question: "is it worth for me opening a vested benefits account in a lower tax canton?"
