Without open company, how to sell product

Hi everyone,

We are all foreigners in Switzerland. We don't know whether we will stay here next year or not.

We completed building one measurement system (sorry, we can't clarify more) and then we want to sell it. Fortunately, we received offer. Can you advise us whether there is any way to sell our product without open a company? All the opinions are respected.

Hate to be stating the obvious but what's wrong with trying to set up a company then sell it?

In fact why sell the product when you can sell the share of a company?

Besides what's the value roughly for this measuring system? You might wanna consult some lawyers about this, you don't wanna get screwed.

If you just wanna sell it without a company, you can just bill the company buying it and job's a good'en!

There's nothing to stop you, as a private person, selling whatever you want to sell. You just have to do under a name or title where your name is visible and where you have a legal address.

Obviously you have to do a bit of basic book-keeping to meet the requirements of your tax declaration but that's no problem.

Does your visa allow you to work? If not, you could be a in grey area trying to set up a business. You could maybe set up a company in another country, and sell the product into Switzerland. Tread carefully though.

Yes, we all have working permit B. We already made a investigation among all the possible countries and Switzerland charges less tax for private company.

However, as we mentioned, we are not sure about the future, so if next year we leave, we have to close the company (and it cost us around 2500 CHF).

Could you make it a bit clearer? book-keeping ? For example: If i'm a researcher and ETH wants to buy our product, how do we sell it? We are scientists, so have not so many ideas about it.
