Won Ricardo bid.. but..

Hi Folks,

wanted to check if a buyer can step back or decline to honor offer/bid he made for an article.. which is won by him..?

Reason for decline not necessarily be the faulted item but could be change of mind too.

Can Ricardo or Seller claim the amount Buyer bid for?

Thanks in advance..

Placing a bid on Ricardo is a legally binding contract and if your bid is the winning one you have to pay up.

That said if there are other bidders, you can try to contact the seller and ask him/her nicely if he lets you out of your obbligations with you just paying the difference between your winning bid and the next lower bid from someone else who then will get the item.

Thanks for the valuable piece of information..!!

You can decline your purchase offer, the seller has option in the admin page for the sale to offer it to the other bidders behind you...

But you need his consent for this, otherwise ricardo admins will be involved. But rules say you have 2 weeks to pay, after that sale is nulled.

We once sold something on ricardo, but the person who placed the bid never replied to our emails, nor did it pay up.

We forwarded copies of all attempts to contact the buyer. He did it in 2 or 3 items (different sellers) at the same time. Ricardo was great, they advertised the item again for free and returned the commission fee, they also banned the said user.

I once bid on an item and it turned out I did not need it anymore. The amount was only 10 CHF so I contacted the seller (before the bid had ended) and told him that I would pay but would not collect, if it was OK with him.

Nice guy said no worries just pay me 1 CHF for the costs of re posting the add.

Bottomline: talk to the person selling the item.

How did you pay the 1 chf

?

It would be beneficial to know how to transfer low amounts.

Thanks!

thanks guys.. nice to hear about different experiences.. Happy Bidding to all..

Hello,

I have a problem. I am new in Ricardo and because of that I didn't know how the bidding system works. I bid 3 things, it is: No. 717 530 058 and

No. 717 308 610.

But I already bid one more tablet and won the action, because of that I do not need any more of them. Is there any possibility to remove my bid or lose the auction on purpose. P.s. until the end of first auction left only 2 hours 30 min.

Thank you for quick answer,

Nelija Borisenko

Well the 1st one has days to run so I would not worry.

The 2nd one might end with you winning it. What I'd do is contact the seller, tell them you made a mistake and pay their fees for the auction and relisting.

Other option is to contact Ricardo and say you made a mistake but they'll see that you hedged your bets on tablets and won both. Ooops.

Thanks for the answer,

I already wrote to ricardo, they wrote me back that "We'll try to answer your inquery as soon as possible." but I suppose, that it was auto - respond. So still, don't have any hope.

To contact the seller is also quite difficult, yesterday I posted in "Answer and Question" field and didn't receive any reply...

I am so upset. I suppose, that I will need to buy this tablet and resell it for somebody else.

But still, thank you for your quick answer

did you read my answer - in particular, the 2nd option.

Yes, I read. I contacted the seller, he told that it is impossible to remove the bid.

that's not what I suggested.

If you win in 2 hours, ask then if you can pay the fees and relisting costs.

Or buy it and flip it. That means you put it on Ricardo for sale again. Get the ad right (detail and initial price) and you may be surprised.....

Well, maybe it is better for me to put in on sale somewhere else, not in Ricardo. I could ask the seller, for covering the traveling cost and etc, but the main problem is that I am the only one bidder, and the seller won't go for it.

since you won, I'll offer 250 for it?

You want to buy Google Nexus 10 from me for 250 CHF?
