Work like Accountant in Switzerland !

Hi all

What sort of certificate or studies are needed for someone working like a accountant in Switzerland ?

Can you also recommend schools, unis and online ones for accounting please in Zurich .

Thanks and have a happy weekend

Do you want to work as a registered accountant, GL accountant, payroll, controller? There are several ways to get there, depending on what direction you want to go, one is here (sorry, in German but then you ́d probably need that anyway):

Can someone with ACCA work like accountant in Switzerland ?

One way to learn more about the job skills required would be to look through employment advertisements for Buchhalter, Accountant, Controller, etc., on internet job boards. Here's a list of Swiss job boards:

Do you mean as an auditor in a practice or as an accountant within industry? If the former, then no - ACCA (nor as far as I know any foreign audit qualification) is not valid. You need a to be a Diplom Wirtschaftprüfer to sign off audited accounts. Working in industry is at the mercy of the hiring manager/company. More chance of ACCA being known and valued by an international company than by a Swiss SME and to be honest without local GAAP, tax, regulatory knowledge and language skills you aren't going to be much use to an SME anyway.

Thank you Mullhollander sooo helpful and

Thanks eyebeebe , we can learn everything if we want, right

foreign audit qualification is not valid in Switzerland to provide assurance with financial statements. If your national certification is recognised here (and if you are from a serious country it probably is) you can do an exam and follow some courses to learn the Swiss system. It is very interesting and as you already have the background the exam is not too difficult.
