WWZ vs Swisscom

Anyone using WWZ in the Unterägeri area and can comment of the service/speed/reliabilty, compared to Swisscom I'd like your input please.

we are in Oberageri and using WWZ, before we lived in Zug also with WWZ.

When we moved to Oberageri everything went very smoothly - only the modem box had to be plugged in. Invoice address change was announced in Metalli then everything was done.

We had one issue earlier in Zug, internet connection was broken all the time. It got fixed quickly - we just received a new box. Customer service was ok and very quick.

In the past 2,5 years they called me just one time with an offer and quality check - this is also ok.

Price is cheaper than Swisscom.

I have the 50mb package and I can download with approx. 5-6 mb max. It is enough for me.

There was one annoying thing with them: depending on the agreement with the flat owner you may be charged CHF 78 or 75 as a ground fee quarterly . We did not have to pay it in Zug, but here we have to pay it here.

In the base free package you also get TV channles even HD ones - we have a satellite reciever, so this one is not really relevant for us.

We do not have landline number so I can not tell you anything about that.

Hope this helps.

See my terrible experience with WWZ forTV service via thread link below.

Today we signed up with Swisscom and will migrate ASAP.

Today all the shows we set to record, simply never recorded.

They have big issues with there technology since increasing number of HD channels available.

The Swisscom package is costing 20% more, but what option does one have :-(

WWZ or Swisscom

Well, we opted for WWZ over Swisscom... seems a good choice. Kit was delivered when they said, activated when they said, and set up was easy Internet is much faster than Swisscom could offer, and has been rock solid. TV (when you get used to it) so far is lag free, recording both manually and series links works perfectly, and the picture quality is excellent. If I find the box with the phone in I'll feedback on that. Only downside is the guide/set up etc is all in German, but not so much of a problem as an inconvenience. With the current deal the Platinum package is a 1/3rd he price of Swisscom for 6 months, then CHF30 odd cheaper.... happy days.... so far.

Swisscom is better. Good luck!

Not too helpful for anyone wanting info for comparison that is it, and so far your statement also inaccurate. The RevenK cited some specific examples of the problems he had and why he switched. So far we have had none of his issue and the service from WWZ has been excellent.

Hope it works out ok for you with WWZ. We were ok for first 7 months and it all went down hill when they added more HD channels.

We would have liked to have stayed with them.

WWZ are small time and for the TV service simply a reseller.

All issues are referred to Quickline or TV box maker.

Only last night we noticed 2 program's we set to record were still listed to record

4 hours after they finished. Very frustrating.

I'll bet, and with repeated failures I'd vote with my feet like you, and I hope things go better for you with Swisscom. I don't know if the box has changed, or its had a firmware upgrade? but ours (so far) does everything it says it should.

I live in Zug and have been having endless problems with Swisscom - one minute we have internet, the next not. The other problem is that our apartment is long and thin and we cannot get wifi everywhere.

I have a wifi amplifier thing, but it seems to be useless.

I have rung Swisscom soooo many times.

I THINK that one of the problems is that we pick up about 15 other wifi ́s and so that causes intereference.

Does anyone have any ideas?

I am doing a distance learning course and it is online, so this is hell.

Many thanks
