Ladies - Can you help me with any ideas regarding a Christmas gift for my wife? I would like to get something that she will be able to keep long term as a reminder of our time in Zurich. Preferably it would be easy to get back to the states eventually and under 1,000 chf. She already has a watch as well. Thanks for the help in advance. dws
Swarovsky Crystal ?
Fondue Set ?
Something from the really expensive swiss handcraft place - scarf ?
Jewellery
Tablecloth or other cloth which can be used on a daily basis, with a Swiss 'feel'
Jewellery box
Music Box / Clock ?
I am looking at really nice 'memento' Christmas decorations that we will use every year - each with a story of its own
please excuse typos, typing one-handed with toddler on lap...
A book or cartoon about Zurich perhaps ?
A cuckoo clock, of course. Ours has travelled safely back to the UK and on to France, so you should get it back to the US in one piece.
Something small and sparkly from Bucherer perhaps? http://www.bucherer.ch/en/home.html , Although it might set you back a bit more than your CHF 1000 budget, your wife will think you are the cat's pyjamas...
If you are still stuck for ideas: with the fabulous Christmas markets all over Switzerland, you can find some absolutely beautiful Christmas decorations and ornate candle holders for the festive season.
You could get her one of these and it will be a reminder of your time in Switzerland every time you get the Christmas decorations out in your future home.
A lovely clangy cow bell.
(Kisses to the missus!)
