XBOX Live Users

Hi there,

Xbox 360 and Xbox users around the world often play multiplayer console games on Microsofts Xbox live service, myself occasionally included. I particularly like call of duty, gears of war, and sometimes like to relax playing microsofts version of texas hold em (no real money involved).

It just occurred to me that if any English Forum members out there are players as well, then lets publish our Xbox live member names here.... maybe we can get in touch and play some games together!

So, my name for anyone who wants to add me to their friends list: krlock

anyone else?

I'll add you tonight, but I'll be busy playing the Forza demo all night. :P

GT : Salmonid

Gears of War is always fun, but I suck. Also Uno, Pinball, Worms, and I might buy Catan, haven't decided yet.

+1 on the forza demo!!!

I will hopefully get my Live connection up and running tonight and pass it on.

Got my big screen tv last night and embarrassingly failed to get past the second task of the training on Ghost Recon 2. For love nor money could be get my scope mode working where you breath in and magnify it. I am quite embarrassed by this and spent time on the internet and the game said it was the Right Shoulder button but I was getting vrey exasperated. Any clues for the newbie?

I only have GRAW 1, but I'll try it when I get home and let you know exactly. Are you sure that you have a scoped weapon equipped? I think it is in fact the right shoulder button. No need to embarassed, its quite a complicated game, and damn hard to boot. I've been stuck for ages on a particular mission.

i briefly played the demo of this game on xbox live. i seem to remember that you press in the right hand joystick to activate scope. some rifles then have two levels of zoom. you would press the joystick again to cycle through or leave scope mode. for the breath in to steady, its certainly one of the four buttons on top but i cant remember.

Cheers Gents,

I seemed to try pretty much everything last night but will persevere as the graphics looked pretty awesome last night, very frustrating..

Speaking of Forza, entering the code "sense" at checkout got me 5 pounds off of the Forza preorder at game.co.uk.

haven't got my own xbox 360 yet. i have an old xbox which i played mostly fps, or adventure games. i'm boring i know but i like playing games i can sometimes win at! that said i love gears of war! it's so cool and i hope my hubby and i will get one this year sometime and maybe we can play a few games with you guys!

i'm looking forward to halo as well! played that quite a bit with my siblings. i feel comforted knowing there are EF gamers!

I was clearly being a monkey and didnt realise you could press down the right joystick and use it as a button as well. Doh. As soon as that was solved I enjoyed the game massively.

Just one more question though... I need to connect my Xbox to my computer and the lead is not long enough. I have tried an ISDN and a Modem cable from Interdiscount, neither of which seem to work. Without shelling out on a wireless connection any ideas how I get this to work?

Cheers

to connect to your PC, you'd need a crossover ethernet cable.

I assume that my friendly local interdiscount can furnish me with one of these? I havent seen any crossover ethernet cables in there before.

probably - just make sure you tell them you connect machines directly. How do you connect to the internet?

I just plug my cablecom modem straight in.

There is a specialist computer shop near not too far away from my office, think that might be the best bet.

so you connect to the cable modem with a USB cable? Or have two ethernet cards?

I have a 360 Wireless Network adaptor for sale if you are anyone else is interested?

sorry i was wrong it seems that it has actually been sold by my husband - sorry folks

I have no ethernet cards and just plug it straight in.

I could be interested in the wireless adaptor Nicky but am curious as to why you are selling it?

hmm.... good question that I can't fully answer, the adaptor works and was only used for a month or so but for some reason my husband needed to use a wireless bridge adaptor or something as he wanted to play a specific person (i.e his brother) on Xbox live and needed to configure things differently, anyway I think thats the reason.... I may be wrong....

Up until last week, I plugged my 360 into my wireless router. But then my router went bonkers and I can't connect anything to it anymore, very annoying.

not all routers are certified for xbox live use but most should work fine.

you can google quite a lot of information about setting up your router correctly.
