Young gay man moving to Lausanne - seeks introductions to the city!

Hi people - just wondering what Lausanne has to offer for an outgoing 28-year old gay man. I'm moving here from London, which is bound to be a culture shock, and would greatly appreciate any friendly advice to help me settle in!

Hi and welcome to the Forum.

I dont know anything about the Gay scene in Lausanne but i dont think you will find it that much of a culture shock. Lausanne has a busy, hip night life which goes on til the early hours.

Why not join up to our regular fortnightly meets at "Tacos" for a few beers? the next meet is on the 14th Aug. You will find us on the Calendar.

You will now see here and welcome to Lausanne. The view's better than London...

Hey,

We are a Gay couple moving to Zug which is just a short drive to Lausanne (Sept/Oct). Well my partner will be in Switzerland all the time and i will be there at the weekends and sometimes during the weeks.

Neither us have lived or really spent anytime in Switzerland before and are looking for friends. Gosh doesn't it make one feel sad that there will not be a single friend for dinner or just a day of chatting, exploring (perhaps drinking) when there is free time?

We are also in London. If you would like to meet before the move (if you are not already there) and just chat, have dinner and drinks, talk through apprehensions let us know.

I am not sure what you consider to be a 'short drive'. Zug to Lausanne is around 150 miles!

Lol!

This is me being a novice to switzerland... Wrong place.

Thanks

Haha, hello!

Well, Lausanne is 'hip' and whatnot indeed, but it depends on what you feel like doing.

We have Gay Friendly bars, Hetero Friendly bars, Gay saunas if need be :P

It's a nice enough city, pretty open-minded and calm.

Thing is, the crowd in bars and such is often the same, and has been the same for decades.

So I'll be happy to help you around the city, even give you a tour of the place, though Geneva and Zürich are more fun.

Not complaining though, Lausanne is more than enough for me
