New distracted driver measures:
Does that mean I will always have to watch myself being watched while driving?
Yet another thing to beep, bong and nag you while you’re driving. It’s like having your mother-in-law in the passenger seat.
i rented a BYD for my holidays. it not just watches me (it keeps on bugging me everytime that i move my eyes out of the road, which is every 5 seconds, basically), it also has requested full access to my mobile, beyond and above the classic bluetooth app ‘approvals’, and i had to reset the access rights on my phone, as it had taken over…
Next year, I have to buy a car for the first time since 2005 and its going to be something built from before 2010. Perhaps a 1998 Mercedes 230 ce, with wind up windows, a radio with a knob and the only electronic doodah is the clock.
If someone steals my car will I at least get a photo for the police?
Unlikely, that would infringe their data security rights.
But it would be my car that is being infringed upon!
Holy diesel engine batman.
Just been browsing Autoscout24 and see that the prices for pre-electronic cars are through the roof.
15 Grand for a Merc230 with 300.000 clicks on the odometer.
Nobody will pay that.
It’s just wishful thinking.
I predict cities and governments will start charging owners of these old cars a fortune every time they move them - within the next five years.
So everybody should think twice (or trice) before committing to purchase one of those.
Yup…Why we in da bidness. The 230, the last really good Merc that will go to 500k without needing service. Some are beautiful, but not that one. This one is.
Just never get in an accident with one of those (no headrests…)
Yeah. There’s a reason for that.
Traffic-related deaths peaked in 1970:
with less than half the amount of cars.
At the same rate, we’d have 40k+ deaths every years now.
You need to find yourself some serious reading material.
To whom are you speaking, and why? Colour me confused…
Somehow really don’t like the thought of it all https://youtu.be/6q_LcyTL6UI?list=LL
I’ll take a Jensen Interceptor before the revolution comes through…British class, with US muscle shoehorned under the bonnet.
Nice!!
How many gallons to the mile did that thing use?
