You've been Switzerlanded (orig. "Holy mother of god [Film developing cost]")

WTF!?

I remember us discussing processing costs on here not long ago.

What you paid is crazy but with the way things are going it's vital to check costs before hand for processing. I have seen some prices all over the board from peanuts to half an arm.

you say 36 shots so I'm assuming it wasn't a 120 roll in which case 117 would almost make sense from a numbers point of view ... you know

Never mind that, let's see the pics.

If they were worth paying CHF117 for then we absolutely need to see them.

I think that was a TAD too much! I paid 41 CHF (also on the verge of fainting) for developing one of those cheap throw away cameras, but it included a CD with the photos so...117 WTF? I developed my film at interdiscount.

Yeah, that photo was taken after I'd just left Coop. (Those are Swiss people standing around me.)

I just bought myself an analogue camera... seems that was not too smart.

117 CHF sounds way too much. Which company was that?

Re: Holy mother of god [Film developing cost]

Don't mention God's name in vain!

CHF117- for a roll of film?!? Hardly in vain!

time? was it express? 1h process?

Careful - God has a thing about correct apostrophe usage

Oh sh!t just monday I dropped of a roll of 24 at the local migros. It said 13x18 prints were 0.80 chf each but nothing about the development costs.

I'm screwed ain't I ?

Did you use your real name?

Any identifying information contained in the pictures?

Are the pictures worth as much as your first born child...?

Every frame sent back in time, hand drawn by Michelangelo, then sent back to the present day?

was that for a jobo system? these are well worth it and you'll always be able to resell it quite easilly.

processing is faster (so you need to recalculate the times) and I think you also end up using less chemicals because it's all automated.

yup. there was a cheap semi-automated jobo for a few hundred and also a fully automated ATL that was a bit more.

i was pricing based on say, £10-£15 for development so equal to around 100 rolls of film and figured i wouldn't be shooting that much film. but at 117chfs, the economics of it changes quite a bit.

That all rather depends on what you regard as affordable

Not 30,000 bucks I don't.

The price we pay for our art, ay?

Still, wouldn't change it for the world

Maybe just shop around in future

the big photo place at stauffacher is pretty cheap - can't remember the name but it's on the corner. i think denners is just opposite. it's less than one CHF for each print and they do a good job.

Mr. Minit I guess.

they are incredibly expensive, films, shoe repairs or whatever they do.

Holy Mother of God is right. After a few rolls of film you can have your own darkroom.
