zhprivate tax - tax online 2020

Hello

I have seen that zurich now allows the tax declaration online, without having to print/send papers.

I have used zhprivate tax in the past but I have lost the file from last year.

Can I import my previous year declaration in the online tool ?

Or can I ask for the file and use the software ?

Is the online tool as advanced as the software (it was only for simple declarations in the past; I have a complicated tax declaration this year) ?

Use an old file, it mostly uploads only your data and bank account details as far as I recall.

I haven ́t started using it yet but would imagine it is similar to the paper form and anyone has to use it now.

You can import an old offline file. But be careful, the other direction is not possible.

There is no longer a simplified ZHprivateTax-light online version. The ZHprivateTax online has all the forms, but looks different than the offline version. In the last three years there was the light and full online version.

The most important part of the data import is the Wertschriftenverzeichnis and the possibility to compare the entered values with one from the previous years.

This isn't quite correct. You fill out and submit everything on line, but you still have to send some documentation (i.e. salary certificates etc...) via post.

No. It is quite correct. All can be done online. No more post needed.

Except if they want the originals in a case of a review. Better keep them until the tax is fully finalized.
