Thanks
Has anyone sent their kid to either the ZIS or ISZL for their pre-school / primary year? Would like to hear your thoughts on how well the schools are.
Check first for waiting lists. You might have the choice... or not.
Currently both have spaces for my child and it's very difficult to decide on which one. If anyone has any experience with either school it would be very helpful.
Thanks
Hi, I had a child in year 2 and another in kindergarten a ZIS. Very happy with the school, very welcoming atmosphere and both boys have settled in well and made friends despite starting mid-year.
No complaints at all.
Just wanted to add ISOCS in Cham. We've been there since they opened and love it. The best way for you to compare the schools is to have a trial day.
Trial day? That's a good idea. But so far neither school
Offered that.
My two eldest have been at ISZL for 5 years (although I can only speak about the grades from 4 through 11) and the school is really great. So I guess now you have glowing recommendations from people with kids at all the International schools in the area! Also for what it is worth, if you are considering the swiss local schools, my youngest has done both Kindergarten years and is now in First Class and she loves it there too, so you can't lose whichever way you decide to go!
Thanks for sharing your experience. We have two kids so costs if obviously an issue too, especially since I'm currently not working. We did consider the local schools too but am not 100% sure as we might relocate in 3 years or so and I am worried that my boys won't adapt and hence on the decision on the international schools.
I am currently sending my child to ZIS preschool, and we are very happy about it, and he really likes it. Only downside is a cost, I would say.
In addition, it seems similar discussion was also posted in the past. fyi.
We are moving to zurich early sep. My 15 year old has got thru ICS, ZIS & Institute Montana.
Feedback solicited wrt to the schools' academic strengths as my son is now in Grade 9 and has plans to apply for good American Universities. He's an exceptionally bright child & needs to have a challenging academic environment.
Thanks in advance.
They all three offer the same courses and the IB is the same, same level, same diploma, same exams, same point system, same math competitions, same everything. Only difference: the scenery from the classroom window. Doing IB and Swiss Matura at the same time will challenge any bright child, I can only recommend it.
Thanks! Sure they are all conducting the same exams but the way they go about preparing the students to appear for the IB is different. And Yes IB + Swiss matura shall sure be challenging enough but not his to do list as of now. thanks anyways!
