Hey, I've been living in Zürich for almost a year now and have been to some great club nights with my boyfriend, but we miss having a good bunch of mates to join us on nights out, and haven't yet properly met anyone into the same music.
Is there anyone in or near Zürich into good electronic music and nights out who might want to get together sometime? We tend to be into the heavier side of drum n bass, some techno, house, electronica etc (in terms of going out, but listen to loads of stuff outside of that).
We're probably amongst the - ahem - older people in clubs now, but not ready to hang up our raving shoes just yet
I'm 35 and I feel ancient like an ent whenever I end up at a club after some heavy quaffing. As a matter of fact, I think anyone older than... say 15 will feel old in most of Zurich's electronic music establishments. I'm told the key is not letting it get to you, and using products in moderation generously
Hmm it depends what you're into I suppose! I tend to prefer mine on the grimier side I've been to Zukunft, Hive, Härterei, Exil, Moods, Babette, Amboss Rampe ...
I like them all - Amboss Rampe and Zukunft are pretty cool and relatively intimate - I liked Hive too for a bigger club. Härterei is a cool space, though the crowd hasn't always been that good there.
What do you mean by live djing?
Some people do get away with smoking inside which is a bit annoying, but I haven't found it too bad.
There are a couple of dnb nights on over Easter weekend actually, think we might go and see High Contrast at X TRA on Sunday if you might be interested?
I'm in Zug, but there is nothing over here. Well , I recently found in lgclub a deep house party which takes place next Saturday form 12am till midnight. But it sounds "light" for an electro lover . There are some clubs in Zurich with techno and EDM nights , so perhaps we can organize something, even if is not host by famous djs, don't you think so?
Yeah sounds good, I don't mind if it's not famous names playing as long as I think I'll like the tunes. I'll keep a look out, see what's on that looks decent
I've not been to Kaufleuten, but from what I can tell it's a swanky place where people get all dressed up and pay even more than usual for drinks. (ie. not my cup of tea )
