It was a bit difficult to get the things to go bAng but i fiddled together a small explosive using those rolls you get for toy guns.
It was not perfect but it somehow worked really impressing those guests that had never seen a christmas craker before.
Another time I bought them long before christmas on a trip to england and I am afraid I just could not leave them be,they were all used up on a kids birthday party.
Don't make the mistake I did once of buying 'fancy' crackers in the UK and arriving at the airport for the return leg only to be told "No you don't, Sonny". Security get kinda uppity over explosives in the hold... Still, the Check-in Chicken received a nice present, and always says Hello each time I return...
Everyone gets caught out once unless they get this kind of info. Friends of mine actually took the "bang" out of their crackers to be able to bring them back on the plane. They were determined not to leave the crackers behind
Christmas dinner just isn't the same without crackers. We tried to bring some back a few weeks ago on the aeroplane but some air companies ban them. I discovered some in OrrellFüssli (the englishy one) on bahnhof str last week......6 for a measly 50 chf's! I was told that Jumbo also do them but I haven't had time to check yet.
