Don’t seem to have our old thread about the series so here’s a new one.
On Monday on BBC Four at 9pm GMT and on BBC iPlayer there will be a colourised 90 minute film of Patrick Troughton’s last appearance as the 2nd Doctor. This was the last black and white series; Jon Pertwee’s 3rd Doctor was filmed in colour.
From the sounds of it seems we might be seeing more of the early Doctors being colourised and shown again.
"Russell T Davies, Doctor Who showrunner, said: “From the day I arrived back on Doctor Who, this was the plan - to colourise old stories and bring them back to life.”
I decided to record the Christmas show so as to be sure not to miss it.
But I found it was already on my planned recordings list!
I recoded the last series as a series and it automatically found the Christmas show and added it.
Modern technology is just too damn clever.
Somewhere I have a DVD with all the early Dr Who, it began as a children’s teaching aid and had him visiting historical events and times.
What happened to the Dr. Who thread?
Cant find it anywhere.
Anyway. just forcing myself to watch the wokey-woke gay, black new Doctor Who in the christmas special…
Would have been much better years ago if instead of breaking the lore that the Doctor could only regenerate 12 times they should have had a story whereby the current last Doctor met another Time Lord/Lady and handed over to them to continue the stories.
It’s never been as good since the revival under Russell Davies; I can’t remember a single episode. Glad I stopped watching when the gender change came in; it’s just ridiculous now.
I gave up on Dr. Who half way into a show a few weeks back.
It is just painful to watch and I think that the only way it can be revived would be if Gene Hunt became the Doctor….
