The USA will open its borders from sometime in november for tourists , which are fully vaccinated, so direct travel from switzerland to the us will be possible again.

Have a look from Geneva maybe, direct flight for UN people, leaves at nice time, returns nice time and economy is usually fairly empty as UN people fly up front
JFK is the crappiest airports in the world. Even in pre-covid times unless you have Global Entry you are pretty much stuck on passport control for 3-4 hours.
Getting into Manhattan on Friday/Saturday evening or getting into JFK from Manhattan on Friday midday is almost impossible.
They should demolish it.

If you hate JFK there are other options not far away. Swiss was flying direct ZRH-EWR (Newark) but I'm not sure whether they still are. United was flying direct ZRH-IAD (Washington-Dulles).
Other than heli, the best solution from JFK into Manhattan is AirTrain to A or E/J/Z subway lines... actually pretty reliable and not too busy except obvious peak commuter times. Definitely feasible at your target times.
Obviously, that will make the heart fond for Swiss public transport.
Fly via Dublin, do your immigration while you wait for your Dublin to New York flight and you arrive as a domestic flight with no immigration or passport control to worry about. Well worth it

OP complained about JFK so offered a better city to fly into. Could also fly to Newark. But Boston has cheap pubs and discos!
Swiss is still flying to Newark, or at least their website says so, and my son flew from Zurich to Newark at the beginning of September.
