So assuming my mate (not the same one as Rocklobsters, but a real goody 2 shoes) will ONLY use kosher online paying content services to access streaming music and english films in Switzerland (ie no SKY, no P2P) etc, what are peoples favorites and why?
I just went back to MSN music and signed up for a month of Flatrate. The catalogue seems to have expanded a lot in the last year or so since I last used them. On the downside I dont like that the content guide is very bland and dry.
I used to like musicmatch "cover notes"guide with links to other albums and and artists, but their on demand isnt available in CH anymore.
partielly on the same subject - got a recommendation from a mate (3rd one already... :-)) for a tv service called teleclub. looked it up but only found a german webpage ( http://www.teleclub.ch/Kabelnetz/)) . anyone have any experience with this? any feedback? looks promising, content-wise...
Teleclub is nice. They offer up to 17 channels. The movie channels got English audio (I guess 95% of the movies).
They offer very good service so if you ever call the hotline you actually feel like a customer. If you can't have SKY I guess it would be a nice alternaitve.
Right now you need to have a box for Cablecom AND Teleclub. This will change in June. Then you can also get all 14 sports channels from them. They mostly offer Swiss sports, but also some games from England.
http://atdhe.net/ for live NHL streaming plus AHL too - also has most other sports as well, but it's the best I found for FREE Ice Hockey live streaming.
Personally, I'd rather be at a pub watching games, but when you are stuck at your desk at work, it's good to have an arsenal of streaming links in your "favourites" tab.
The link I mentioned above can be bit unreliable, but it's enough to keep up with the scores and action etc.
