Films and TV shows that feature Switzerland

I've been off ill for a couple of days and happened to catch " The Champions " on ITV4, which features Geneva in it's opening credits and it got me wondering what other Films and shows from the English speaking world (and elsewhere) feature Switzerland, however tenuously, stick them here.

The Original Bourne Identity from 1988 had large portions filmed in Zurich

This site which is a fun read for Swiss and movie buffs has a few more, including On Her Majesty's Secret Service which was filmed in CH including Bern

Ok........

"The Eiger sanction" with stone faced Eastwood. Enjoyable though.

"Love and bullets" with Bronson. Silly but glorious views of the alps.

"The Swiss conspiracy". Senta Berger and John Saxon. Bad, bad, bad. Public domain and freely downloadable.

"Inspector Clouseau" A not very funny Pink Panther (from 1968) without the great Peter Sellers. Shot throughout Switzerland.

"The return of the Pink Panther" with the great Peter this time. Great shots of Gstaad.

BTW, the Bourne movie was not shot in Zurich. It was shot 100% in Prague (cheaper). The license plates on the cars are bad imitations.

I believe 'The Bourne Identity' was filmed in eastern Europe. But sections of 'Goldfinger' were shot here...

Yes, at the Furka pass and also close to the Pilatus factory. The scene at Goldfingers's Swiss factory were filmed in some woods behind Pinewood studios!

Right. The original version starring Richard Chamberlain was filmed in Zürich. The Matt Damon movie was filmed in Prague because Zürich was considered to be 'too dull' by the filmmakers. But hey, they changed the road signs to be Zürich signs and there's even a tram 10 that goes to Oerlikon.

I remember watching the Bourne Identity in the cinema, and when the policemen woke up Matt Damon with that faux Swiss German dialect the whole crowd roared with laughter.

The film Syriana with Matt Damon and Clooney (i think) is filmed in Geneva, a lot of it round the President Wilson Hotel.

Perhaps the most famous, along with "The Eiger Sanction", is the James Bond film "On Her Majesty's Secret Service"

The Schilthorn revolving restaurant became 'Piz Gloria'. The film production financed the completion of the revolving restaurant.

'Hotel du Lac', based on an Anita Brookner novel. It's theoretically set on the shores of Lake Geneva, but I'm not sure if they used a different Swiss lake in the film; I haven't watched it since we moved here.

"The Holcroft Covenant" with Michael Caine features scenes on Lake Geneva

I still remember when they were filming the movie here. The director of the movie, Stephan Gaghan, who also wrote Traffic, signed my Traffic DVD and wrote "Russkov, don't do anything dramatized in this film."

"Tinker Taylor/Smiley's People - John Le Carre - BBC series - whole episodes take place in Bern

The opening scene of goldeneye.

Also numberous bollywood movies are said to have portions filmed in switzerland.

All kinds of Bollywood movies have been filmed in the Swiss Mountains:

Legendary:

Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge,

and recently a Swiss-indian movie Tandoori Love (the film itself was really bad though)

There were several episodes of 'The Saint' that featured Switzerland. Whether they were actually filmed there, I am not certain.

"Phenomena" A Dario Argento horror movie with a very young Jennifer Connely (she looks like 14 or 15)

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0087909/

Yes but there was a Bourne movie before the more famous Damon ones, the one I refer to above was filmed in 1988. I saw it once on late night German TV....follows the book plot much closer and a slower pace, I think it was 4 hour TV feature?

silver bears - michael caine is sent by the american mob to buy a swiss bank in lugano. turns out the bank is bankrupt and he sets out to corner the world silver market .. very underrated. features a young jay leno.
