If I understand it correctly, there is an über-trendy area in Seoul called the Gangnam District which is full of rich, self important posers (imagine downtown Zurich if you will). Anyway, he's parodying this in his song so actually its not as bad as I initially thought
The video is awesome and currently the song is at no.2 in the Swiss charts.
I voted 'i like it'........only because its mixed and mastered to high standard even though its just throw away generic electro-pop littered with vengance samples.
It's great fun. There's a parody (of the parody) on youtube done by some people in London which is actually quite well produced. They could have gone a step further imo and done a "Camden Style" but it'll do.
Love it! I read an article (perhaps "the" article) explaining the parody and giving insight into Psy himself. I already liked the song because it's bouncy (makes me move!), but knowing the background and that it's a bit of a "giving the bird" makes it all the better.
Gosh, that was so two weeks ago ....is it seriously playing on Swiss radio? SNL already did a spoof which the guy actually show up in it to sing. I don't know if any of you can see the clip, but it's at http://www.mostwatchedtoday.com/gangnam-style-snl-skit/
What I want to know, though, is what's the deal with the horses.
