She was recommended to me by Michelle Finemore (the English beautician from The Green Room salon) and sounded really nice on the phone. She's located near Saalsporthalle, speaks English, Spanish and Croatian in addition to German, and seems to have reasonable prices (although I specifically mentioned that I have very short hair).
I have an appointment with her next Wednesday...we'll see how it goes!
Today I was at Coiffure Daria, and I am very pleased i found her.
She really takes time to talk to you, what would you like to do with your hair and explains everything very good. She did great job with my hair, and she is using Nashi Argan products, which I tried for the first time and I really like what it did with my hair.
Can't recommend her enough!
Just make appointment before you go, because she is not always there.
I always go to cut my hair with Anabel, I LOVE HER STYLE. she does all kinds of modern haircuts. She is great with curly and straight hair. she speaks some english, fluent in spanish, german and french.
I havent paid 82CHF ever! The most I paid in CH is 25CHF and decided it was better to go to germany and then converted to having my own cutters which paid for themselves after 2 cuts
try the Mc Connell s - especially should you be able to make an appointment with the "master" himself ... the best cut ever if you like Vidal Sasson combined with Style of Tony & Guy - absolutely fabulous
So, I've now had my haircut from Daria for over a month and it still looks great!! As r2d2 mentioned, she really does take the time to get to know you and figure out what your style is. She understood exactly what I wanted and had the basic shape done perfectly in what seemed like minutes (then the detail-work and highlights took a while).
The best was that she's so relaxed and treats you like you're her only appointment that day. She gave me a lot of extra pointers on styling and even on eyebrow coloring techniques.
I enjoyed her non-traditional approach to hairdressing (like running the salon out of her own home, which is still totally professional and classy, and allowing customers to sprawl on the couch during highlights and haircoloring), which, perhaps, is not for everyone. I also got to meet her cats!!
I paid about 180 CHF for the cut (short hair) and highlights, which, I am told, is a decent price for Zurich. I also discovered that almost half of the women in my office are Daria's devoted clients - so, this lady is obviously not the best kept secret I thought she was!!
I had my hair cut and coloured yesterday in a salon called Persepolis on Zürcherstrasse in Winterthur,
Quite a disaster.
I have mid length curly hair. When the stylish started by roughly pulling a fine comb through my hair without any care or attention, I should have stopped there and then. I didnt.
He pulled my hair so hard at many points that my scalp is still sensitive today. He literally had white knuckles when drying my hair as he was pulling so hard. And yes, I did stop him a few times as I couldnt bear the pain.
He put highlights in and left them for too long so that they became too bright and then had to put ANOTHER product in to bring the colour down again so that I look less like one of the characters from my big fat gypsy wedding. This just caused more damaged to my naturally curly, therefore, naturally dry hair.
I just wanted a trim but he cut about 3cm off, which when your hair is curly, looks like 6cm. Once the first cut was made the rest had to match.
Im getting married in 3 months time and wanted to keep my long hair, I can forget that now.
He managed to charge 170chf for this disaster which I stupidly paid, saying he was giving me a discount however this is the highest price I have paid to date in Winterthur for cut & colour.
I cant believe that I will have to pay another similar amount of money to try to have this disaster fixed.
Am thinking of having a drastic change. I'd like a complete restyle (my hair is already short, shorter than shoulder-length) and perhaps some colour. Has anyone had this sort of thing done at Caroline Rohwer's salon?
My family and I are new to Zürich, having moved here barely a month ago. Being in a new country is daunting but thankfully, despite what people say, people here are very friendly including my neighbors and work colleagues.
I have been lurking on this forum for a while, checking out what goes where and who is who and I must agree with what was said above, she definitional knows how to make people feel welcome and comfortable and the services from her and one of her staff (Renna) were perfect.
I needed a haircut for my new job and was pleasantly surprised after all of the horror stories on this site, my wife had her hair done with Renna and loved it so much.
Please forgive my ramble, but I have to express my gratitude as it made the move here a little more welcoming in a foreign city.
