How best to get from Zurich HB to Letzigrund stadium for the Taylor Swift concert?

I somehow managed to let myself get talked into going to the Taylor Swift concert on Wednesday evening.
I’ll be travelling from Neuchâtel by train so need to get to the stadium on public transport.

What’s the easiest, most idiot proof way of getting there?

Tram 14 in direction of Triemli and then tram 2 direction Geissweid at Stauffacher

This made me smile.

As you can imagine, public transport can be rammed, so I would look at whether you can go to Hardbrucke station and walk, or alternative go by bike from the station.

I was surprised that there were no direct trams or buses between the HB and the stadiums. This was last year when we went to see Ed Scheeren. We ended up walking from our Hotel.

PS Ed is coming back: August 2, 2025. Tickets on Ticketmaster as of Wed, unless you are a ‘club’ member they are available now.

From WRS I believe that access to the stadium area is being seriously restricted to ticket holders. Despite being rammed I’d take transit and grin and bear it.

I wasn’t planning on bringing my bike from Neuchâtel with me.

Where do I get the number 14 tram from?
And is Stauffacher where I need to change?

SBB have direct, incoming and outbound, extra trains with stop at Altstetten (some 15mins walk to the stadium under normal conditions). That’s easiest, but not the most comfortable as those will be crammed.

If you take the outbound extra train (one stops in Neuchatel) it’s probably wise to board at HB.

I was thinking more of getting one locally on arrival. e.g. a hired scooter or bike.

Yes, tram 14 from HB (main station), get off at Stauffacher and take the one to Letzigrund (should have been more clear, sorry),

Given all Tom’s horror stories surrounding cycling in the German part I don’t think I’ll risk a bike.

Take the two to Letzigrund…

(I‘ll get my coat…) :wink::laughing:

There are some useful maps. Search for “Anreise Letzigrund”. They show the various lines of transport.

Imagine the scooter dumping ground Letzigrund is turning into.

When is the actual start of the concert? I only found 17-45, but I assume it’s a time of doors opening? Some members of my family will be returning from Bern and I’d like to estimate at what time the main crowd will be inside already and the trains to Zurich will be empty again.

I will be there too - will be cool but the city is going mad with this!

My suggestion is to take Tram 3 Direction Albisrieden - goes from Bahnhofplatz right in front of HB before Bahnhofstrasse starts. Get off at Albisriederplatz and walk the last 300m.

If public transport goes crazy (it might) then I would walk the 4km…

Enjoy it!!!

Doors open at 15:30, supporting act is 17:45 and TS starts at 19:00 is what I know.

They’ll disappear at the end of the concert

I remember seeing the crowds leaving after an event and being glad I didn’t need to get a tram back home!

Just read this on 20 Mins and makes a lot of sense:

“The Swiss Federal Railways recommends arriving and departing via Zurich-Altstetten station. This is just under 15 minutes’ walk from the stadium.”

So go to HB, then take a train to Altstetten (they go every few mins) and walk to Letzigrund.
