I tested positive for Covid yesterday and I need to buy Paracetamol and get it delivered to my house. I'm in Geneva and I checked both Amavita and Sunstore but neither deliver Paracetamol.
Anyone knows what should I do to get Paracetamol delivered to my place?
For paracetamol some questions have to be asked therefore at a minimum you have to call your local pharmacy by phone. Otherwise find a facebook group with people willing to help and someone will help you.
The Sunstore pharmacy delivered paracetamol to a friend in a similar situation last year when her husband had Covid and she was in quarantine with him.
She phoned the store and they were incredibly helpful. This was in Neuchâtel but I’m sure if you call your nearest pharmacy they’ll be able to come up with a solution for you.
I've got a bottle of aspirin with 200 tablets pushing its validity date in my cupboard. I think I paid $12.99 for it. One of the medical wonders of over the counter shopping in the US.
While it of course paracetamol here doesn't cost 35chf on average, it is nevertheless ridiculous to have paracetamol as being needed to be sold 'under advice'; it's one of the safest mainstream pain medications.
I really do get annoyed by Switzerlands pharmacy drugopoly.
I don't know what I'm gonna do when I run out of aspirin in the giant bottles from Wally World. I think they were $5. Also Visine, Benadryl, big bottle of citirizine for $15, Lidocaine 20% spray (wonderful for insect bites), etc., etc., etc. OTOH, I just picked up a corticosteroid on Rx from my derm here in AT, and it was 8,50 E...would have been $60 in the US. Not going back there unless something terrible happens.
I guess having high prices is good to avoid overconsumption but is really a burden for people with actual issues. Recently I wanted to test having ibuprofen for a couple of weeks for plantar fasciitis as nothing else worked and 3 weeks of ibuprofen is 60+ CHF.
