iPhone application recommendations

I could purchase a full-day pass though, yes? Though I don't know that the iPhone would fit in the punching machines...

A day pass (24 hours) is valid from the moment you buy it, not before.

Oh that's right. Oh well.

It is possible but will raise a warning when the ticket is scanned. (Yes I tried ...)

There's a trick that allows you to cheat the system and not pay for the ticket unless it is scanned but I find it rather dishonest so won't give it ;-)

Evernote.

(not specific to the iPhone, but only after playing with it here have i found uses for it almost everywhere)

Put a couple on the wrong thread.

Layar : Funky augmented reality app, taps into various resources to show you places of interest around you with little dots on your camera screen. 3GS

Cyclopedia : Same as above really, but only uses wikipedia as a source, so not quite as good. 3GS

Mobility Finder : Find your nearest mobility car, bit basic at the moment, it only finds the nearest cars and then has a button to phone mobility themselves, but if they keep developing it to make it something like the SBB app, it would be fantastic.

you would most likely risk a fine or pay additional CHF5

2nd - I have found evernote (esp the image search function) very useful on a number of occasions.

Also the dropbox app for www.getdropbox.com is also very useful for syncing docs between my work PC / home mac and iphone.

Dropbox looks promising, although I don't think our IT lot will allow such an installation. The web version of Evernote is a good workaround for that.

The app I'm waiting for now is the iPhone version of MyLife Organised. If that comes with air-synching, I'll be a very happy chappy.

Another useful app that is not iPhone specific but very handy: TripIt

Amazon (UK) have just released their app for the iphone. You can search their extensive online store (+ third party sellers), add items to your wish list, buy and most importantly read other customer reviews. I can see this being very useful the next time I'm in Saturn, Interdiscount etc..

When you exit fring without chosing the option to "Go Offline" you still get messages via push notification even when fring is not running....to reply you can launch fring and exit again.

You dont have to keep the applicaiton running in order to be connected

I could only find the app for amazon US. Am I missing something?

See if this works (it should open in iTunes Store UK): http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/M...335187483&mt=8

Hi 2CH,

Two apps I've found very handy are:

1). Oxford Translator German Travel Pro (5.50 Fr.) - for phrases, grammatically numbered (i.e. 1, 2, 3, etc.) with correct pronunciations; and

2). German-English Translation Dictionary by Ultralingua (22.00Fr.) - it's gone up since I've purchased it, however it's worth having even at this price.

These apps don't replace actually German courses, but they have proved to be very helpful to me.

Happy App Hunting! ;-)

Ah. So I need a UK iTunes account. Bugger.

Wait until this comes out in English -> German or whatever, the possibilities are quite good:

For anyone out there who has a German bank account: iOutBank

Does anyone know of an ipod app which is an internet radio (with BBC Radio 5, like Wunder Radio), with a sleep and alarm function?
