IVF information / clinics in Switzerland

DOES ANYONE HAVE EXPERIANCE OF IVF TREATMENT IN CH.

ANY INFO WOULD HELP eg COSTS ETC

I don't personally have experience of IVF in Switzerland. Are you sure it is IVF that you need? There are many other sorts of assisted conception available and all are much less costly and traumatic than IVF.

Good luck in your search, I know how infertility can hurt. We are lucky we conceived our girl naturally following several 'procedures'. As I said, we are lucky.

I too am looking for IVF clinics. When I undertook a search on google.ch, it came up with an englishforum website and this thread...

Hello everyone

I wonder why it hasn't been moved here? Or is there another forum that us IVF hunters should be looking at to help us procreate?

We researched it before moving to Basel...the unit at the university hospital here is supposed to be world-class (with leading researchers). They have a brochure in english on their site but it does not include prices.

Good luck!

Good one Jawbreaker! Thanks for the info.

http://www.kinderwunsch.ch/

It's in german, but has a list of IVF centers.

From the swissmom.ch site, some that have been through IVF here have said that the costs range from 6k- 8k depending on dr & clinic.

Good luck!

Gynart.ch is a well respected clinic here in zurich. You need a referal from your doctor and the waiting list is about 3 months. The cost for an IVF treatment is about 6500CHF (not covered by insurance). You can also do 3 cycles of artificial insemination which is usually coveraged by your insurance. IVF is actually a pretty good deal in Switzerland compared to other countries but they aren't necessarily as agressive in their approaches. Good luck

Despite our best attempts to ask people not to use the introduction forum for asking specific questions, it still happens. Thanks for bringing that thread to my attention, I've closed it and posted a notice that people should come to this thread instead.

I've also changed the title of this thread from "ivf" to something which might make it a bit more useful for both humans and search engines in future.

I can imagine that this is an important question for many people, so hopefully now this thread can get a little more traffic.

I can recomend Dr. Michael Singer located near Zurich Enge. www.singer.ch

I went for an initial consultation in September, one month after arriving to Switzerland, no referal, no waiting lists. I started IVF treatment in October and in November I got pregnant and surpisingly with twins.

He is very kind, delicate and most importantly, know what he is doing. He speaks a bunch of languages very well. I love him.

I previously had 6 IUI's and one failed IVF in Holland.

This cost us about CHF6500 but as they say... getting a positive pregancy test... priceless....

Good luck!

i am new hear in switzerland. i'm also looking for the IVF clinic . i am staying at baden 15 min. from zurich. so i find ur post. and its really encourgeing. so are u now got ur babywith that treatment?reply soon

Hello

We (hubby & I) are using the Kinderwunsch-Klinik in at the Kantonspital in Baden. I find them helpful and nice.

If you have not had tests done yet, then they will first do tests to see what the problem is and then suggest what can be done.

The costs are carried by the Health Insurance (at least for one artificial insemination - but best if you talk to them). Some of them there even speak English.

Good luck

Peko if you want more information regarding the Kinderwunsch Klinik at the KSB (Kantonspital Baden), then please PM me.

Peko, I agree with Swissmiss... You could try the Klinik in Baden as it is closer to you. Have you had any tests done?

Before coming here I had 6 IUI's and one failed IVF in Holland so I had all the tests done so that's why I started quick. We had our medical records transfered here and had another couple of test done.

I am now in my 20 week of pregnancy and the twins are doing fine. It does happen...

Good luck to both of you...

Congrats ....

actually this is 6th year of my marriage.I am from India.there when I consulted with a firtility Dr. , he did some tests.and told me that i have the probs. of hormonal imbalance.for a year I was under his treatment. but still now i ............ so . i want to do treatment here.but i don't know anything that's why i joined here .thankx for ur suggession.i will contact to kinderwunch in KSB. thankx again

Congratulations! And like you said getting a positive test is priceless.

I too went thru IVF and I think it is really important to live close to where you are being treated (for consults, blood tests, sonograms etc). Also, IVF is becoming part of a team, you have to feel good about who you are working with.

Good Luck!

We were very pleased with the Fertility Clinic of Dr de Geyter at the Basel Universitätsspital. Pregnant with first ICSI IVF. We had to pay a deposit of about 6000CHF upfront, but we got a part refunded later.

We got pregnant naturally the second time - apparently this is very common after fertility treatment kick-starts things first time round. So good luck!

I was wondering if anyone had had any experience with the Zurich Unispital clinic. I am going through the process now and it has not been easy..test after test..waiting..more tests..more waiting. If nothing else the process has definitely made me more patient. It is also difficult because I don't know anyone that has gone through the process so I have been relying on the internet to answer many questions.

Any feedback/input would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Shannon

I don't have any experience with the hospital, but I do with IVF. PM if you are interested.

Same here - lots of experience, just not in this country. Always here if you want to chat or just vent.

Dear Ladies,

could you please tell me if the price 6,5-8 KCHF- include medicaments ot not?

Thank you very much.

A few words about myself - I had 4 ICSI trials in Ukraine, unfortunately no success, now we moved to Zurich and I am lookind for the new Doctor!

Thanks a lot for your information!

Has anyone have a piece of info re clinics in Shafhauzen?
