Some people were saying you should never provide medications not "prescribed" for you - which is a good point. And others were saying unless you have beenthrough IVF nad had to pay yourself then...
It is a good question. I have certainly been in the position where I needed ONE dose of a certain med and could NOT get it for 48 hours (where I lived) in CH! Therefore the whole situation was a huge stress (which should be reduced going through IVF anyway)...So I had to order it in Germany and drive 2hrs to get it otherwise that whole cycle would have been a waste. So I would definitely help someone else in such a position, if I had meds (in date/unopened/proved I went through IVF recently) left over.
Here are some of the prices I paid from reciepts this year.
Switzerland:
1x Cetrotide 0.25mg - 84.10CHF
Gonal F pen 900iu - 515.85CHF
Germany:
1x Menogon HP 75ie/menopur equivalent 219.98€
Ovitrelle...?...sorry I can't find a receipt right now.
I would recommend calling/emailing a big pharmacy e.g. Pharmacy in Zurich haupt bahnhof - and asking for the prices of each med before you go so that you have an idea.
To check prices in Germany (Waldshut, not far from Zurich) you can email and ask for the prices e: [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected])
They were VERY helpful a few times when I couldn't get certain meds same day in CH.
Hope this helps.
GOOD LUCK!
Gonal F pen (300ie) x1 single dose = 186.41€
Previous price below was for 900ie.
Menogon HF 75ug was 219.29€ for 5 doses. In CH when I tried to get it they could only order packs of 10 (I only need 1 more dose).
Cetrotide 0,25 x1 single dose = 52.49€
Ovitrelle x1 single dose= 52.97€
*The pharmacy in DE can also give you a tax back form.
** They should always put certain of the above meds in cooler bags for transportation!
If I find any of the CH prices paid I will update if it helps with the decison to buy in CH or DE.
Good LUCK!
Spain and Czech republic are european leaders in reproductive medicine.
I forgot to mention that there is a FB group for IVF patients Eggs donation and IVF abroad / Switzerland & France
Prices are on their site and it depends what tests and medication is needed. It was 4500 euro just for the IVF procedure without any tests nor the medication needed which is specific to each person.
The treatment is so diferente and the following I had in Spain was by far much better in Spain! Said that, sometimes is just about luck.
So what is this ERA test? I have had 8 failed IVF/FET cycles over a period of 8 years. Visited several doctors here and abroad and no one knows why its not working.
I always have good number of eggs at retrieval, a good fertilization rate, the embryos always appear to be healthy and high quality(always beautiful blastocysts), the uterine lining always looks good, the transfer goes smoothly, but the pregnancy never “sticks.”
Turning 40 this year and cant go on anymore. However, i have never heard of ERA test and would like to know what that is.
Will very much appreciate.
Thanks
It is unfortunate that my doctor never mentioned such tests and I learnt now on internet. Looks like ERA means Endometrial receptivity test. I think they take some tissue from your lining to see if embryo implants to it in the lab. I want to go abroad where they do pre genetic screening and investigate all possibilities why implantation never happens with me. I am now over 40 and just learnt that it is not allowed to do ivf in Switzerland after 42, and some other countries have this limitation too. I am a little disappointed with the treatments here.
Women who have unexplained infertility and who do IVF in other countries, would you please share some names? I looked at serumivf in Greece, but they don't even mention doctor names on their website, which is negative point for me.
In Greece the age limit is 50(serumivf). I have had treatments there and can give you alot of info about the clinic. If you need more info just pm me.
I have done all kinds of immunological screening and they never found anything. I would like to try this ERA test. I wish there is an easy way to do the test without me travelling abroad for it, i would do it just to check. I have been to GynArt and Dr Singer and they never mentioned it to me. My last visit to GynArt the doctor told me to go and pray
If anyone know where i can go for this test please let me know.
Thanks in advance.
I hope it brings somebody their little bundle.
I did the ERA test with Dr Singer in November. I don’t know when have you been there but he definitely does it know
All the best
Thank you for the info.
