You MUST see it in 3D.
It comes out today in the French part of Switzerland and tomorrow in the German part.
I caught the premiere last night and it was one of the most awe-inspiring, emotional, and spectacular films I've ever seen.
Oh please don't tell me it's in 3D, if it is I wont be able to watch it - I get double vision and stinking headaches whenever I use those polarising glasses. Bummer, I've been looking forward to this film since god knows when.

Oh, there are also 2D screenings everywhere. It should still be great movie in 2D, as long as you don't know what you're missing. In 3D, it's a borderline transcendent experience, it's like you're looking through a window to another world.
Yeah, I'm thinking I might check it out tomorrow at 4pm at the Pathé Balexert in Geneva... in 3D and VO of course.

Grrr, only one cinema has it in english, and only one has it in 3D, unfortunately. they're not the same one (Luzern).
Whoa, I just checked, you guys were supposed to get it in IMAX 3D, it was scheduled and everything. But now it's been cancelled for "license-technical" reasons at the last moment. What a bummer, considering it's the only IMAX screen in Switzerland.
I'm seeing it at the IMAX in London in two weeks, thankfully.
Cap Ciné in Fribourg is showing it in 3D and VO at 20.00........
Can't believe they're actually showing a VO film, it's almost totally unheard of for them.
Thank god for that, and Russkov I won't be missing anything apart from having to sit through the movie with one eye shut.
Hehe, I remember talking to my boss a few months ago and hyping up the movie, saying how great it's going to be in 3D. At the end of my speech he went, "Dude, I'm blind in one eye."

Here's what it says on the first page:
"Leider ist es dem IMAX Filmtheater in Luzern aus Lizenz-technischen
Gründen nicht möglich AVATAR 3D auszustrahlen."
I don't speak German, but using an automatic translator, it seems to say that it's cancelled. Avatar has also disappeared from their Coming Soon page.
Maybe I'm not understanding it right. If it's still playing, definitely see it in IMAX, the best way to see any movie.
Maybe this iMax only has a license to show documentaries, because that's all that ever seems to be on there.
I see in a few places they have problems with the subtitling in 3D , that may be the problem.

Yep, my screening was subtitled in German and French. Relatively well executed, not distracting at all.

If you go to the 3D showing in the Arena (sihlcity) do you get those LCD shutter type glasses ? What if you are wearing glasses already ? Is this still comfortable ?
