Hmm I haven't seen it yet and didn't realise it was a spoiler - kind of got the story kist from the preview... But if it's enough of a spoiler then I'll make it a link not the image but am on iPod at moment so might have to wait till morning..
Shame they don't specifically mention if it's in 3D. They've also changed the times and it only passes once a day in english now in Galeries. Maybe they had 3D shows before?
Better call them first and find out. Pathe Balexert specifically has the 3D sign next to some projections for Avatar, this might be a better bet.
Thanks for your replies..one more question though..
This one says its suitable for 12+ years old, but I wanted to take my 7 year old to watch it(I suppose it should be ok, but does it have a lot of violence?).
Do they strictly enforce this age limit at the time of entering? We dont want to book tickets online and then be denied entry.
Switzerland is clearly not the United States. Many, many years ago I remember seeing a little kid tug on his mother's arm and point at a poster for Terminator 2: Judgement Day . (Another James Cameron film.) I thought, "Fat chance kid at getting in---the film's rated R!" To my shock, I saw the mother walk up to the box office and buy a ticket for herself and her son, who was probably under 10 to see the movie.
This is true. I saw it at the London IMAX and I have to say the image quality at the Geneva Pathé was much better, despite the smaller screen and sound not being as loud. It still looked great, but I found the image quality drop surprising. I'd compare it to a JPEG image being blown up to 125% of its size.
And it's now the second highest grossing movie of all time. James Cameron's got the magic touch. Whether you think he makes good movies or not (I happen to think he does), you've gotta admit he's got the talent to turn his movies into frickin' events . And he's done it two times in a row, each time being an uphill struggle with films that were far from being sure things. A movie about a sinking ship and everyone dies at the end? A silly-looking sci-fi movie about blue people that isn't based on any known property? Yet we've got ourselves the two highest grossing films of all time.
WHAT A FANTASTIC MOVIE WITH LOTS OF MAGIC BLUE PEOPLE....
Joking aside. I got so hooked despite sitting in the first row in a fully booked 3D show E/d/f subtitles, that I wanted to go again the next day.
It takes you away from reality and thats what one sometimes needs..... it was as if I didnt want to come back into reality....
So in my opinion - yes ok, some bits and bobs seem familiar if you have seen Stargate by R. Emmerich or the Matrix or whatever, but hey, it is one of the few films that really makes you want to have more, more , more.....
So ignore the storyline and just enjoy the effects ....
Even the "I see you" made me smile, as it reminded me of "be seeing you" in the UK series "The Prisoner" *mind you, that was a bit of a different story....
Cameron should have given more thought on the fauna of Pandora...it's really stupid anatomically that an animal would have 2 pairs of front feet, like those horses and the wild-doberman looking dogs...or the giant birds with a pair of wings in the front and another in the back, LOL !
Evolution is no stranger to "stupid" things become an integral part of an animal or creature over a period of time. From a functional design standpoint, many things about our bodies are an absolute disaster. For example, what you're looking at your computer screen with:
The fauna of Pandora was designed for over a year before production started. I'd say they gave it more thought than you have.
Irelevant smarty...haven't you heard of artists creating something in the course of a year's time and it tourned out to $hit ??? The fauna is criticized on many blogs and reviews > a double pair of frontal feet is ilogical since the terrain of Pandora is pretty similar to Earth's...it just looks ridiculous ! lol, at least he didn't give the Na'vi 2 pairs of hands
And besides, most of the creatures look sooo unoriginal, either inspired from other movies or from modern-day mammals !
