See, the thing I wonder about those stories is this:
Why is it always that the male romantic lead is from whatever "advanced society" and the female from the "natives"?
*steps on soap box*
I think it is because the men of the world enjoy the idea of "elevating" some "poor woman" from her sub-standard existence, it strokes their ego and gives them a notion of power.
Meanwhile, those same men detest the idea that a woman could bring them up AND also detest the idea of their sister or daughter being brought "down" to the level of her "native" love.

Ok, now that you've got something to think about... just go enjoy the darned movie. It's meant to be entertainment not a physics exam for pity's sake!
As for the Physics of Avatar, from what I understand, it's fairly well thought out, and based on scientific fact, with a little poetic licence thrown in for entertainment purposes.
- The film was in English with subtitles.
- Capitol does not show movies in 3D
- There were about 40 people watching
- 1/2 were English speaking.
The film was fantastic even without 3D. Monday nights are cheaper at the Capitol and it cost us SFr. 12 each.
As we walked out, my friend and I said we should have seen it in 3D at Maxx instead, even if it's in German.
The second question is: do they talk a lot?
So, if the "smurfs" talk a lot during the movie, I'd rather fly to London to see it at the IMAX.
Can you confirm that:
1 - the blue people speak their own language
2 - in CH, when shown in English with subtitles, there are no additional English subtitles when the Na'vi talk
Once I know that the above two are correct, I need to know: do the Na'vi talk a lot during the movie? Like half of the time? Or do they just have a few dialogs?
Thx
Plot was western movie type, cheesy and really DULL ! The only thing that keeps you interested is the blow-up sequences, the creatures (those Na'Vi are damn sexy) and the scenery !
But don't forget, this movie was not intended for IMAX, but 3D ! Look on the net, a lot of people complaining about the IMAX image > blurry, foggy, etc...movie works better with Dolby 3-D or RealD cinemas !
I have to admit this Cameron dude is a marketing genius...never heard of anyone traveling 500 miles JUST to see a movie !
I liked the flying flowers, and the pink turning lizard...
I can't wait to see a new Alien in 3D...
(although it can be quite scary :P )
Some may see this as a spoiler so click at your own err risk (?)
I missed links above to same thing - forget I posted it!
Carry on asyou were
