KerryGold Butter

Hi

Is there any place in Zurich area that selling Kerrygold Butter?

Thanks!!

I suppose you have already checked your local grocery stores?

Chris the only place I've seen it is over the border in Constance or Singen.

I love it, too!

Yes

We are way beyond that!!!

Basically, no. You won’t find any UK butters here so far as I know. Not unless some store like Globus might be stocking it.

That very strange, considering amount of Irish, English, expats that are in the area!!!

What's wrong with Swiss Butter? Just curious.

They have it in Edeka and I think Penny marks in Jestetten (DE) where I do my shopping

If you REALLY want it and are willing to collect from Winterthur I can get you a few next time I go there (not sure how long are 'best before' dates).

Regards

there is a huge kerrygold warehouse in Germany cant remember where, think near Stuttgart as passed it before. all the European stuff comes from there a Kerry gold employee told me once. Surprised with swiss proximity to warehouse it is not available.

Before I lived in Belgium/Holland and could get it in all major stores.

Kerry gold kicks ass out of any swiss butter or any butter for that matter.

I find it difficult to come to this judgment as being from Cork I hate all things Kerry. Except for their butter

Well Im saying same thing for last few moths to my 4 year old kid, but it is no good. She still dont wont to eat it... She is saying it is not a same!!!

Ya compleatly agree with you. Onlu fault of that product it is Kerry gold, it is shame it is not Cork. But fare duce to them, they are making a great stuff. Imagine how good wood be if was CorkGold. !!!

Thanks

Heading for holiday this thursday, Thanks for ofer. When I got back I might go myself to germany. Im iteresting to wisit that place Europa park, or something like that aparently it is supose to be good. also having cousin maried for german girl, he might advice where would be best place to do shoping over there!!

There aren't that many, not in comparison with the number of Germans for example. There are plenty of foodstuffs I miss from "home" that are are rare or impossible to find here. Just got to suck it up, or have care parcels sent over.

You are very unlikely to find Kerrygold (or any non-Swiss butter) for sale in Switzerland. The import tariffs on milk, butter and cream are intentionally prohibitive in order to protect the Swiss dairy industry.

Luxury food shops, i.e. Globus or Jelmoli, would be your only chance.

Or see if they stock it at some eye-watering joke of a price at one of those expat shops here.

Possible but I doubt it. Those shops seem to steer clear of anything requiring refrigerated transport.

Point out to her that of course, it’s not the same, she’s in a different country and it’s a big adventure trying out different things. If she still doesn’t try it, then tell her she’ll just have to have her bread without any butter.

What does she say about the bread by the way?

You could wrap Swiss butter in a Kerrygold paper (from the one you will buy abroad) and see if she still complains.

Otherwise I agree with Medea.

Swiss butter is really good but it lacks the salt that is found in butter from the little islands. Even now after all the years I have lived here I crave proper salty butter on toast.
