Would be definitely organizing a trip for a bucket... of spicy hot wings.
Good times, when I went to Munich earlier this year and had a spicy hot wing feast over there.
Are there any other KFC lovers in the vicinity of Lucerne*?
*EDIT:
Considering the passion I've seen here about it, anyone living within Switzerland participating in this thread could consider him/herself to live "in the vicinity", as soon as a car trip is organized...
Was in the area, so thought I'd pay it a visit. Believe it or not, I actually only had a chicken caesar salad and diet coke + 9 wings and half the wife's tower zinger burger
Made the trip there today from Zurich. Its actually really easy to find, just off the highway. Ordered a Brazer burger combo with chips and a (refillable) Pepsi. To go I had a 11 piece chicken strip and 11 piece hot wing bucket, 2 corn on the cobs, and a dessert. All in all about 30 euros and enough to feed 4 people, but i will pace it for the next few days.
BTW, I was stopped at the Basel border by the Customs. They wanted to do a full car search for some odd reason. (trunk, the spare wheel compartment, full back seat) Luckily i had nothing at all in the car except the KFC on the passengers seat. I guess if i offered him some, he might have waved me through
Do they actually have chicken pieces like wings, breasts, thighs, and legs? When I was in Avignon this summer, I was surprised to see that they didn't have the traditional buckets of chicken, they only had those breast strip and hot wing combos.
In Munich, I was able to buy the traditional pieces like in the U.S. and U.K.! I don't know why they don't do that in France??
Like in Spain, they don't even have the "Original Recipe", they only served the "Extra Crispy" chicken!
I've got to ask, given the number of threads about KFC I've seen, why is it such a discussed topic. Is because it really is food heaven, or is it because it's something that is available in your country, but is not available here, and you miss the option?
I have to say that I never noticed the absence of KFC here until I read the threads on this very forum complaining about the lack of KFC in Switzerland.
I must qualify my questions, and confirm that I'm in no way trolling, because to this very day I have never experienced this supposed culinary delight.
I can only speak for myself! To me, it's just a treat that I do miss occasionally. Here in Switzerland, you really can't find fried chicken! Yeah yeah, I know it's greasy and unhealthy, but so is 80+% of all food and drink! (Liquor included)
Just as you can't find a great Cheese Burger here in Switzerland like say "In-N-Out" from California, KFC is the next best thing. Because it is here in Europe, it becomes a "so close, yet so far" for allot of people that just crave a little taste of home! For Americans and Brits who've grown up with it.
