L-Dependents Workpermit

ah ok, coz right now, she is has the dependent status on my L permit but if she managed to get a job with an income enough to support 2 people then i get the dependent status if i leave work, did i got it right?

Hi everyone,

I am coming to switzerland and seems here are some L-permit experts. Hope someone can help me out with my simple questions. I am Chinese national and wonder can I re-enter switzerland with the L-permit? I think I need a visa to first get there but is that visa multi-entry? If not, is it easy/necessary to get reentry visa while I am in Switzerland and wants to travel outside? Is it possible to apply for multi-entry visa from the very beginning? My company is handling this and I am supposed to pick it up from the consulate. I don't know what I will pick up.

Thanks a lot.

I am writing here because I saw a lot of informative answers here in the forum. Me & my wife both are non-eu citizen. My wife is working here and expected to be here for another 4 years. I got a dependent Visa yesterday only (L permit, with no working rights).

I am an IT professional and having very good skills. I had some interviews and a couple of company's have already shown me interest (I got a final call).

I know ways & procedures in Swiss laws but now I just wanted to know that how fair chances could be that they give me a job/Contract. What should I do to definitely get the job as I have already cleared the interview (Both of the companied doesn't know my permit situation as of now).

Pls Help

Raj

You got a "final call" without being asked once for your residency status?

Don't confuse a Visa with a Residence Permit or a Work Permit.

What sort of permit does your wife have?

My wife has L permit, (Subjected to get renewed every year). I have only got the resident L permit.

For Shorrick : The "final call" means they liked my profile and satisfied with my interview. Soon, I have a meeting with them to discuss about my work permit situation. It's a small company.

So pls suggest what to do.

1. with a spouse L permit you cannot work without going through the normal work permit application process and the employer will have to apply on your behalf and prove the usual criteria apply.

2. if your wife has a 4 year contract it would normally be a an annualy renewable B permit. This would potentially give you the right to work.

You may need to give some more details on your wife's contract. Is she in normal employment or is it a post doc or similar ?

I know this condition, but I want to know how fair chances could it be in normal situation like this. What I should say or discuss with them during the my next meeting.

Pls suggest !!

Assuming 'them' is the potential employer you can only pass on the fact that you do not have the right to work in Swtzerland and that the employer must obtain a work permit. The chances of success rely entirely on the employer being willing to do this in the first instance, and then on the authorities in their assessment of the application.

Thanks Swissbob

I find the right answer !!

There is nothing stopping you from applying for a job but the employer will have to apply for a work permit for you in the normal way and there is a chance the application will not be succcessful.

Once you are married, then the work permit is virtually guaranteed.

Hi All

I got the job with a good IT profile & work permit now. It's a local Swiss company here in Zurich. I have another query here.

My current residence L permit is valid till Nov 08 end, would they change it to any other permit now or after Nov 08 my employer would apply for me a new permit? I signed the contract but it's no-where mentioned any Permit detail.

Regards

Rajiv

Your employer will have to apply for a new work permit before your current permit expires. What type of permit it is will depend on whether you have a limited or unlimited employment contract.

Hi everyone,

I am South African and my Boyfriend is a Swiss passport holder. We have been thinking of moving to Switzerland and i would need to be able to work.

I am in the process of studying nursing, we still have some time to go before i finish all exams.

I just would like to get as much info as possible to make the planning a little easier, i would appreciate all the assistance i can get.

What permit would i apply for or will it even be possibe to get a permit to work, it seems very difficult for a SA citizen to be abke to get employed in Swiss?

Thanks

It's all covered here :

I am here with my husband on an L Permit and I was told by the Kreisburo that I could work temporarily, as long as it was for less than a year at a time.

I don't know of any basis for this in the law - did you get it in writing?

Yes, I would be interested too...

No, I didn't get it in writing. That was just the response I got when I asked the gal who issued our permits if I could work. I guess when I get an interview I will find out if she was right.

Hi everybody,

Well I finally got an answer from the work office in Zurich, on regards of the L (NON-EU) being granted instead of a B, even with open contract, even though there are some quotas per year, there seems to be a new regulation according to them, which for the first 2 years (1 year on L then one year extension on the same residence permit), you stay on L and then you get the B, thats what the work office told the company.

Maybe this helps (or frustrates more) someone else in the same situation as me.

Cheers!
