A man who is unable to open a bottle of champagne without spilling it is in no position to handle his own financial affairs.
Seize his assets! Throw him into Newgate! Make him sup on milk and stale bread!
I'll have the contents of his cellar, Mr Brown can have the rest.
As for jealousy? Maybe. Could it be that he went too far by putting his filthy rich hands on one of our Pussy Cat Dolls?
You decide. Like CH, I like to remain neutral. Ish.
He doesn't like curry?
Even more reason to dislike the man...
National Treasure??? WTF how does driving like a maniac make you a national treasure? I mean, does it benefit humanity? Bring good culture? Add to our heritage? Something in say 200 years people will look back and say, "hey that Lewis Hamilton, what a guy!"
If I had that kind of money, too darn right I'd go where I pay less tax. I'd still pay my taxes... but...
"ah to sleep, per chance to dream..."
The sooner motor racing is returned to its rightful place as a Sunday afternoon excuse for a booze up for the benighted inhabitants of small Midlands towns , the better.
It has no place amongst the sports of the gods. Let's see and hear no more of it.
As to LH? Well he is a talented driver, one of the youngest to win the World Championship. Why he chose to live here is his own personal affair but I'm sure he'd welcome the open debate about his motives. Is he paid too much? Should he live in the UK? Are some jealous of his fame and wealth? I suspect some might think the answer to all 3 questions is yes. Let me ask a fourth question, do I personally give a toss about him and his fame and fortune? Nope, not even a flying toss. Apart from the "God helped me do it" nonsense he utters from time to time. That's his problem though.
As for National treasure, you missunderstand me. I said 'some say'. I like the fact we have a winner in a sport, even if it's a sport I don't really like.
Seems strange that ABS, Traction control, lauch control, safety belts, corner/stability control and all the other gizmos were all originally designed to make the car go faster when used in racing.
When it's used in a Ford Focus we call them 'Safety Features'.
Days were you could bank on a F1 driver or two being killed. Back then it was a dangerous sport but the death of Ayrton Senna in 1994 changed all that. Thanks to better safety measures and technology, deaths might be rare but accidents and serious injuries aren't. Is what he earns justified? Hard to argue that one. What is proportionate anyway? He's a brand and a business not an individual. But he seems very talented to me and his job calls for a lot more skill than pressing start and stop. I'd say it's no less justified than what some of his peers might earn from kicking a ball around in a park, hitting a ball with a club or making movies.
So why pick on Hamilton? From the little I've seen he's the antithesis of the arrogant stuck up git. There are much, much bigger superstar prima donna's walking this earth than Mr H. And if he can save some tax good on him. His is an international sport which isn't financed by or leveraged off the skills and infrastructure of any one country.
and he doesn't need any welfare hand outs
So my feeling is that they would be willing to be pragmatic, after all do they have a problem with Arab Sheikhs living in Geneva?
Can't stand his music either. Never could.
There are no smilies in your post, but you are being sarcastic, right?....
...right?..right?..right?...
