We can expect that the last passes will be open by late June, so I thought we could revisit the EF idea of a day out on four sporty wheels. Rear wheel drive and convertible roofs are recommended, but not mandatory.
I am trying to get an idea of who might be interested, when would generally suit and depending on where people come from what a good route could be.
Who is interested?
Where are you based and what could be a good place to meet? [A2 rest area in Uri maybe]
Type of vehicle? [just curiosity]
When would work? [late June or maybe better after the peak holiday season?]
Interested. I live next to Aarau. I’m off for vacation on July 5. So, either before that or after Aug 23.
I’m happy with the suggested route. Maybe, make the same loop but starting from Lugern (OB). Last time I mentioned not starting that early, but it’s a good idea to start at 6AM.
Might be a T350…one of the few models with no central intake duct. I’d have to ask OH, as these bad boys are his thing, and this was taken years ago at a dealer’s yard. Or we might bring something more, er, sedate.
I’m around for most of July and could probably steal an early weekend morning for a bit of fun.
I wouldn’t be against doing it on a workday either; probably better for traffic anyway and would rather try to get a day off work than a day off family.
Not a bad idea. But then it needed to be late June to use the longest days. Furka and Susten are still closed but should open next week.
What would you have in mind for start time, assuming for example meeting at A2 Altdorf? I would actually also like to still have time for a beer at the end.
Altdorf - Susten - Grimsel - Furka - Andermatt - Altdorf is probably a 4 hour drive. That is without to and from Altdorf and without stops for a drink and a chat. I don’t see how this works honestly.
