MeteoSuisse new website - awful

http://www.meteoswiss.admin.ch/home.html?tab=overview

This is useless. I can’t even get info for my village now.

The page doesn't upload for me.

yes i thought so too. It does have some nice things, but what the old did well was give a overview of lots of areas quickly.

I guess it will probably improve with more releases.

though i wonder if its done by the same people as the postfinance online banking

Try meteo.search.ch

It has my little village but I don't like it very much.

At first sight, not very customer friendly !

Let's give meteoschweiz our feedbacks...

might help to improve their website

For me it loads, but the browser is inacceptably slow. Byebye meteoswiss

the good news is that I can play the radar animation now

I aleady did, asking for the old one back please.

The agency I last worked for did the design (but not the implementation) of the new site, so I saw that design for months before its release. (It wasn't my project, other than helping with some browser acceptance testing at the end.)

The old site's definitely not coming back, as all Swiss federal government websites are being transitioned to the new design. However, be sure to let them know of missing functionality or performance problems.

Scroll down to "local forecasts" and enter your postal code, then click "Choose location".

Yes, I thought initially when they changed the FOM site a little while ago that it was better, but after using it for a while I find it much more difficult to find the info I want easily. Now the weather has gone the same way.

Already tried that, doesn’t allow me to enter my postcode so no info for my village.

So guess I’ll be switching over to meteo.search.ch or another I have used occasionally which is meteocentrale.ch. I’d do the same with the FOM site if there was another one which provided the same info in a more user friendly format. Although ch.ch is okay, the FOM has more detailed info. How to lose customers in one “designed for tablet use only” lesson.

All weather around here is reported from Fribourg, Posieux weather station - just enter a nearby village, like Cornedbeef (1720, I think), and it'll be the same for Misery ..... certainly no more inaccurate than normal.

This looks OK to me,

http://www.meteocentrale.ch/en/europ...ls/M11-000239/

That's the one we use and it's pretty good.

I have the meteosuisse app on my iPad and that hasn't changed for the moment.

Or ask Santa for an IOS iGadget for Christmas and use the Weather.CH app.

(Unfortunately not available on Android, last time I looked).

Visually pleasing, and relatively accurate, up to 10 days in advance ..... and for the colonials, can select °F and mph (wind speed), if metric is too alien.

No, thank you! Don’t want an i-anything, mobile, tablet, etc. Waste of time and money as far as I’m concerned.

Yes, TiMow I could do that. But it’s just annoying. On the old website I could get weather reports for all 4 villages that make up our commune (okay it’s the same I know, but still …). Now we don’t even exist as far as they’re concerned.

Edit: Plus the display itself doesn’t really tell me much and there’s no forecast for the days ahead locally either. A moving wavy line tells me zip about snow, rain, sunshine, etc. It’s also lost the danger map the old website had which was something else I found useful.

Yes I have the app too. No problems so far.

Not the meteo site, but I like this one:

www.timeanddate.com

Not only can you get (close to) local weather, but it has a lot of other useful information as well.
