Fiber7 should be installed in mid-December. Question is (I am a noob at this), what equipment do I need to get?
- the Digitec Fiber7 bundle
- what else?
And what happens to my Airport Extreme?
If you want to get the most out of the service don't buy the router Fiber7 sells. You will get only half the speeds.
Go for a Ubiquiti Edgerouter Lite. A little bit on the professional side but gets every percent out of the 1Gbps line .
Or go for a Asus/Netgear Router... latest models.
Been a bit frustrating for the last year, given that the exchange is 100m down the street and I've been unable to order until the landlord finally moved... but repeated emails work magic, eventually.
As I do not have the plug in the house and only has the OTO box in the garage, a technician has called me for a 4 hour appointment next week. He said that installation of the plug to any "living area" is free (if I want to fix it somewhere else like the bedroom it is also free but I need to sign an agreement to change the location), but if I want to change it at a later date, I would have to pay for it. I told him that my garage is like 2 floors down from where I want to have the access point and he said that he knows because he can see from the plan. (??) Well I hope he really knows as I cannot see how he can install the cables all the way upstairs.... we'll see. So far so good...
i have the fiber7 signal up now and it works, but im now on my 3rd router first i tried the cisco vr130 then the netgear R700 and now im on the Ubiquiti edge lite
which is recommended by someone in this thread.
if i plug the cable from the converter directly to the pc DL rates are 900+/900+ up/down but via router its about 150/150 up/down (all Mbbs)
and i want to ask sparxxx how he made it work for him.
SC2 download Screenshot is awesome. i want that too
sry for my bad englisch im a schwizer on a .ch site
What if it were in Italian? Would that be better for you?
P.S. Your English is fine.
I have the fiber cable plugged into a transceiver, which I plugged inside the media converter (all this came from digitec). From there, a normal Cat6 cable to my Airport extreme. From AExtreme then to my computers and so on. I get between 800 to 950 down and up.

I asked them about Geneva and said that would Gigabit Internet come up there during 2016. In the meantime one could sign up for FTTH.50 (symmetric 50 Mbps) and migrate to Fiber7 when it becomes available.
BTW, do they offer any fixed telephone along with Internet access?
On a slightly different note: How are the uptimes with Fibre7? Any issues? I will be bringing my router, an Asus RT-AC68U flashed with Merlin. Anyone have any experience with Fiber7 and the Asus RT routers?
Any help would be welcomed :-)
So far the customer service of Fiber7 is excellent! Just need to make this router working
