i remember when this stuff used to be about 12 CHF (still expensive in my book)
i am guessing they saw an opportunity to raise the cost to match the loreal for men equivalent.
at least it lasts a while and in a country where few people worry about skin cancer, it is one of the few products (for men) to contain any sun protection
I agree with Kittster, it is not really expensive for a cream as such (I quite like Creme de la Mer myself. Now that's expensive). But it's certainly expensive for Nivea, which is just a supermarket brand.
A touch more cash and you can get Clarins, Biotherm, Molton Brown or similar. Tip: delivery is free, so you might want to order each item separately to avoid customs fees. But even if you are charged customs, Strawberrynet will reimburse them if you send them the customs forms.
A long long time ago on the farm, we used to buy a cream for protecting cows udders which was white came in 5 litre drums and was made by the same manufacturer as Nivea, indeed, it looked very much like Nivea and had a very similar smell to nivea, in fact it was so identical you couldn't tell the difference; there was none !
My mum used to have a 5 litre pot of nivea in the bathroom, of course it wasn't called nivea, but that's what it was, even the representative confirmed this !
on a gram for gram basis, cow tit cream was about 80 times cheaper than Nivea.
Hmm, judging by the average personal ad, attractive is pretty high on the list of must haves for men. If you look after yourself a bit (not excessively!), you usually up your chances of scoring...
That is correct. I was talking about the things men list first. But a big wallet buys you face cream, surgery and a personal trainer. So it's all good.
For washing I'm a "soap and water girl" but as my skin is fair and freckled AND prone to dryness here, I do use a moisturizer.
I've tried a few here... and the Nivea daily was alright.
I think you're being played though by getting moisturizer targeted for men, I'd be willing to bet the woman's costs less.
I didn't see any on the shelf with the same properties as the one I got at home (made with soy AND having spf 15 or better) so I picked some up last year when I was in the US.
The one I use (and will have to hunt some more down "soon") is from Aveeno and cost maybe $10 at Target. The smell is more like "clean" than perfume which I like.
I was under the impression they were bought bottles of moisturiser for Christmas/Birthday - they were then stored in bathroom cupboards until they were thrown out.
What is the world coming to? You'll be telling me men wax next!!
No, they steal their SO's prohibitively expensive eye cream to put on "that weird scaly bit on my knee". Have seen it happen, have exploded and demanded a new pot. Which led to a further argument because the guy thought I was mad to buy such an expensive cream. The pot was brown with gold lettering, a gold lid and a special little spatula that goes with it, what did you THINK it cost? Can't you SEE something like that must be dear?
On the other hand, I'll let you off for not waxing.
