Non civilized act

Hi all, I'd like to seek for your opinion.

I go to a place to charge my hybird car. The charging place shows on my swisscharge app means I am allowed to charge. I go few times every week.

Last evening I charged my car there as usual and left it there. After I back to the car, someone took off my cord and left a note at my window says" it's not a parking platz and thr street is private. If I do it again they will report me. "

This is not civilized at all. They can leave a note or talk to me. But not took off my charging.

Today i checked with police and also the swisscharge. They said it's public that I can use it.

So any opinion you could give me? Shouldni charge there again? Or any additional action I could do? I worry if I charge there again they will do sth to my car.

Welcome your views.

Fail to understand why this is a non-civilized act?

Perhaps don't leave the car unattended next time.

I parked my car there and charging. Why they took off my cord and said it's their private street? The fact confirmed by police that is not a private street and charge station is public. What's wrong?

My car won’t release the charge cable if the car is locked.

I suspect you have encountered someone who wants to charge their car and have been confronted by people that park and don’t charge, or park, plug in and don’t charge, or park and charge but don’t return to the car until long after the charging is done.

There is a huge Land Rover hybrid that I see parked at the Migros *all day at the charging place. I know it’s an electricity guzzler but it doesn’t need charging 10h a day every day.

*This is pure speculation on my part, but the monster is there just about every time I park there.

Unplugging the car while charging is not nice.

But, I guess if the car was already fully recharged and someone else tried to charge, that would make other people go mad.

I saw one acquaintance use the charging place as parking once while we had dinner. When we returned, the car was already at 100%. I asked if there was no trouble and he said that he had observed that those 4 chargers had low usage during nights. But other places are highly demanded and it's normal that people make a fuzz if the car is already charged and occupying the charger.

Still not a non-civilized act. In fact, the opposite. Non-civilized would be slashing your tires and bashing in the windows.

Is this the current equivalent to taking washing out of the communal washing machine or dryer- when left all day, so others can't use it?

Yes it is...it is private property so under no circumstances you are allowed to touch it. What if something happens to the car?

I agree but being mad still does not justify what he did. I tried to charge at Ikea and a nonelectric car blocked the charging station...of course it bugged me but the only civilized act is to report it.

If the charging station is on a private street you should report it to swisscharge to adjust the info in the app.

Most cars you cannot unplug without unlocking, precisels for this reason, stopping little shitheads unplugging cars for fun !

Equally you cannot usualy start cars that are plugged in to avoid idiots driving away without unplugging.

What car do you drive exactly ?

I just chraged two hours. The cord attached to mybcar can't unplugged but the one connecting to the charged station can be unplugfed.

First of all, no one can see how much is charged at my car. 2. I just left for two hours. And when I back my car still 3%, no charged at all.

4. Still I think can't touch other people srudf. And it's jot a private street. They just try to threaten people. Bullying.

Dear do u know there is charging station meed your ownncord? The side connecting to the power station can be unplug anytime. Just the side xonnecring to your car can't be unplugged.

Mini countryman hybird.

MINI is made by BMW. BMW cars can’t be unplugged unless they are unlocked.

Something isn’t adding up here.

OP, if I were in your position, I would: avoid using that particular charge point for at least the next few months, and select alternative charge points to charge the car be sure about how long it ordinarily takes to charge the car, and which factors influence this duration be disciplined about not leaving the car parked in any charge point for longer than it takes to charge accept that there is probably no way to find the person who left you the note, and also very little point in attempting to have them punished in any way try to get over this particular unpleasant episode as soon as possible, and then move on, and not spend much more time thinking about it.

All true.

Only thing I’d add, I tend to think like Vincent Vega in Pulp Fiction when it comes to cars. Don’t touch if it’s not yours.

You can leave a note for the next month under the windshield saying you checked with police and swisscharge. He will have read it and will stop. I'm curious why he thinks it is a private charging station, care to link the location on google maps?

If you have your own charging lead, then yes, they can be unplugged from the charger end of things, i believe, but most chargers have a cable attached with a type 2 plug on it.

Unlike Apple, Samsung and company, the car manufacturers have been

able to agree to just 1 type of plug for all electric or hybrid cars, type 2
