The following may sound daft but it is driving me up the wall! Since yesterday, I cannot receive BBC R4 via my Sagemcom RM50 internet radio, everytime I try to select R4 I get a screen: 'No Network' message. Yet I can receive all other channels including BBC Radio 4 Extra. I have gone back through the menu and tried re-selecting the station via the country entry. But no luck.
Probably no help, but I'm getting R4 over internet with 2 different apps. on iPad and Android phone; not the same, I know, but points to something at your end, as opposed to loss of transmission of station.
Sorry if this sounds rudimentary but when all else fails, turn everything off, including the router, then on again. This usually works for general connection problems, though I'm not sure why one station should behave differently. There may also be a reset button on the device that might wake it up.
I haven't used my internet radio for a few months, but never had trouble with R4 in isolation. I listen to R4 every day on a variety of other devices without any difficulty.
Thanks for suggestions, but no luck. Switched off everything as suggested. Switched on again. Then switched radio to factory settings, reprogrammed for network. Again, can select BBC Radio 4 Extra Live but not Radio 4 Live - screen actually says 'Network error.' Bonkers!
I have a Squeezebox internet radio which is receiving Radio 4 just fine.
Googling around - it seems the Sagem uses vtuner as its streaming source. It is possible that the stream for R4 is not feeding through properly to that.
I notice that Sagem's own website has a support forum - maybe post your problem up there as it might be a case of them getting the stream fixed.
After studying the Sagecom user forum for several days, the situation becomes clearer. The BBC is adopting a policy of discontinuing support for Windows Media Audio Format (presumably used by Sagecom) and will from February only support HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) and Advanced Audio Coding (AAC). See http://iplayerhelp.external.bbc.co.u..._audio_formats
So I can dump my Sagecom RX and look around for another Internet radio. Have to check whether Logitech Smart Radios so support.
Depends what your preference is - the Logitech is the successor to the Squeezebox. So far had decent service out of it. I also listen to Radio 4 using TunedIn on my iPad - works quite well too. I can also get other favourites like Radio Merseyside - so I don't have to miss "Hold Your Plums".
Prompted by the Sagemcom user forum, found that my Sagemcom RM50 RX can once again receive BBC Radio 4 Live.
As the user says: Quote: Now the question is: is this thanks to the BBC, streaming temporarily again in WMA format (and switching this off again before the end of February, as announced on their website), or has the vtuner been changed? Can Sagemcom confirm? Unquote.
Do these Sagecom guys understand any concept of customer support?
Wow, I thought it was just me being stupid. Radio 1, 2 and 4 (but not 3) have all disappeared from my internet radio on Swisscom TV - the only ones I listen to. I tried complaining about 2 days ago but I thought it must be my fault so I gave up complaining and went back to fiddling. Now I try ringing up again.
Really glad to see your posts today! I miss BBC Radio 2! I haven't been able to get radio 1,2 or 4 either for at least a week now. Sometimes I've been able to listen to Radio 2 in the morning, but never from the afternoon onwards.
Have you had any luck contacting Swisscom? Now I know it's not just me I'll also try contacting them.
Just to let you all know that I called Swisscom today and they say they don't have any information saying that the three stations have been deleted. Basically they were quite unhelpful!
Just to round this out - the Sagemcom RM50 is still working with BBC R4 (at least for the moment - dependent upon BBC changes). But I ordered and just had delivered a Logitech Ue Smart Radio from Digitech. Really nifty radio, and portable around the house too with a rechargeable battery. Using the 2 radios in different functions.
