Attached is a translation of Annex A of the "Guide for Insured - Unemployment" (Ein Leitfaden für Versicherte - Arbeitslosigkeit), which is available at the RAV arbeit.swiss website. This annex covers short-term disability insurance (Krankentaggeldversicherung).
When a RAV registered job-seeker becomes ill, RAV/ALK will pay only the first 30 days of sickness and up to a maximum of 44 sick days during the qualified period (Rahmenfrist). However, it is normally possible for job-seekers to continue with the short-term disability insurance of their former employer or to take out their own short-term disability insurance policy:
I noted one question asking if one is still receiving income from other sources like self employment or other employment.... do they mean if one is getting income within Switzerland?
If one is getting income from other investments made ( in home country but never brings it into Switzerland) would that be counted / Self assessed?
