RAV Application for Unemployment Benefit - Translated

roegner, thanks, so does this mean if one is getting rental income from their property abroad, their RAV entitlement would be less/ non existing ? i.e. its self assessed, not just based on previous salary earned via Swiss employer?

Afaik you get RAV based on your salary, but you need to declare any income. Hopefully Mulhollander can give more insight

Question 12 on the Application for Unemployment Compensation refers to earnings from gainful employment including self-employment . Earnings from gainful employment comes from labor while investment income, such as interest, dividends and rental income, is a return on capital.

Unemployment insurance is an insurance against loss of income from gainful employment. Investment income is not considered when applying for RAV unemployment compensation.

Job seekers, who export their benefits to another country, must complete a seven question document for three months called "Angaben der versicherten Person". It is similar to the 10 Questions document that job seekers who remain in Switzerland must submit monthly. It can be called the "7 Questions". Attached is an English translation:

Many thanks to Mulhollander for this and for previous posts!

I do have one question on the 'Arbeitgeberbescheinigung' that must also be submitted.

As a contractor I was paid every week and not just every month. The 'Arbeitgeberbescheinigung' requests every pay slip for the last 12 months.

I can submit this, but there will be 45 or so pay slips and not 12. Would you know if this is normal?

Thanks!

To avoid delaying the application for unemployment compensation, I would suggest complying with the requirements.

It is possible to use the website www.jobroom.ch for your personal

"Arbeitsbenühungen" , so you don't need to send the formulars by mail.

All you have to do is register at www.jobroom.ch (Create an account)

at https://idp-egov-private.gate.eiam.a...in&language=en

When the account is working you will find at the left "Arbeitsbemühungen", where you fill in the details of every application.

The "Arbeitsbemühungen "will be transfered automacially on the 05 th of the following month toyour local rav or manual by request.

Btw. It is also in order to send both documents via email i.e. “Nachweis der persönlichen Arbeitsbemühungen” to RAV and “Angaben der versicherten Person für den Monat” to ALK.

However, I used to use for that purpose IncaMail instead of my personal email account.

And also apply to practically any scanned documents on monthly basis.

On the topic of "Arbeitsbemühungen" (Efforts to find a job), the following can be considered "efforts" and listed on the monthly Nachweis der persönlichen Arbeitsbemühungen form:

1. Job applications for job advertisements

2. Contacts with recruiting firms

3. Contacts with the job-seeker's network, e.g., emails or phone calls to former colleagues and supervisors, posting on job-seeker's Linkedin profile indicating "open to new opportunities", etc.

4. Spontaneous applications to companies of specific interest but for which there is not an advertised position

Some RAV offices/ advisers may restrict the number of "efforts" in points 2 to 4 above, especially 4, depending on the applicant's background and area of work.

Also, in difficult times, like outbreak of pandemic and with related to it difficulties on the job market, the number of applications can be negotiable e.g. I was able to do 4-6 max per month.

Would anyone know the name of the other form to send each month in addition to the Arbeitsbemuhungen?

I think this other form is sent to Arbeitslosekasse and not to the RAV.

Thanks!

Please see post 13 in this thread.

If you haven't done so already, you should plan to take the RAV eLearning course "Compulsory information for jobseekers", available at the below link in English and other languages:

Attached is an extensive list of Swiss job boards:

Dear Mullhollander,

I wonder if you could help me with my RAV meeting, which is on 28th of September at 8 a.m in Zurich.

I am new here and I am not sure how to reach out to you directly.

Thanks in advance,

Marina
