Replace shower head - All rounder or plumber?

Hi,

New to house ownership here in Switzerland and what would be a basic question elsewhere, to me, seems slightly more complicated here. Have a basic 'pole attached to wall' where the showerhead hangs and I wanted to put up something akin to a 'rainshower head'.

Is an 'All Rounder' required or a Plumber? Or is it just a matter of calling the Hauswart?

Merci vielmals!

Honestly, this is a DIY job! You just screw the old shower head off and screw the new one on. Extremely simple. The new shower head probably comes with a silicone washer; if so, replace the old washer, too. Just put the new one where the old one was.

Or I'll do it for you, for CHF 150 plus tax plus car usage fee.

As above, but I would charge you 140 CHF plus the car usage fee, the car usage fee being smaller as I'm not travelling from Basel...

CHF 135 plus tax plus motorcycle usage fee, and I'll throw in my apprentice for just an extra CHF 90. Final offer.

Might need a professional to do it if she means installing one of those rain-shower attachments which come directly from the ceiling.

If it's just the new, wider rain-style showerhead attachment where the existing one is, then it is probably easy to do yourself.

Careful, he's got a new car.

OP probably means a "Kopf"- or "Deckenbrause". There could be a bit more to the installation, depending on it's age. Still doable by yourself though probably. A picture would help?

If you get one to screw on, beware of just importing one, English threads are different.

OP, you have your own house but a Hauswart?

edit: I see the boys here sense their chances.

Depends on what they actually want instead of A.

CHF 150 plus travel cost for option B is a pretty good deal.

Depends on what you want. If it's just a new shower head, then DIY is the way to go. If you need to change the plumbing for an overhead rain shower thing, then it's the plumber, after you have permission from the landlord. If you're renting, that is.

It's D, obviously. It certainly will be, anyway, once the OP obtains a couple of quotes for B.

Fair is fair, 130 plus tax and public transport fare.

Or if you go with 22 Yards I have the special offer of 10CHF and I'll throw things at 22 Yards apprentice.

Jokes aside, If you genuinely need a hand just give me a shout.

If you are the owner, the 'Hauswart' is you!

Tom

Assuming of course that the two are an exact match in terms of dimeter and threading....

Are you saying they are not standard? Changed in many countries including CH & they were always the same.

We just got a quote for B. last week:

850 CHF. excluding parts and excluding tiling.

Good Housewife

😂 does the same company also do winter tire changes for 50 fr (excluding: jacking the car up, removing the old wheel and putting on the new wheel)?

You forgot Lunch and coffee fertig

No idea. I do that myself. I did it last night.

Why would anyone want to take a shower in one of those rain shower things?!? Water all over and no pressure. "shudder"

LOL, I don't like them either but they're very much en vogue. Probably with people who open their umbrella at the first sign of rain clouds.
