What do you do for a hobby?
Where are the artists..?
Painting, writing, drawing, knitting, whatever. What do you do to make life a bit nicer?
I myself like Art Deco. Art Nouveau and Jugendstil.
What’s the difference you may ask
Art Deco is made by dwarves, Art Nouveau made by elves and Jugendstil is Art Deco but the dwarves are German.
I love it but it is so expensive to buy, so I make my own.
These are intarsien made out of cardstock, cut on a Graphtec plotter and built on a GTO format light table from 1955.
And this is my rig.

Those are beautiful.
I knit, crochet and do cross stitch. Nothing as exciting as your stuff.

Nothing I can show, but I moderate for a couple of gaming companies on their forums/discords/Steam and also playtest games for them. This is the latest one I playtested for which left early access on Steam yesterday.
Also playtesting Titan Quest 2 which is in early access.

By the way, the blanket that the old EF made for my grandaughter is now vaccum sealed as a family heirloom for the next generation.

Oh that’s lovely.
I had fun putting that together using the contributions from lots of EF members.
Those were good times.

I’ll admit that when I saw the thread title and Slammer as the thread starter, I thought this was going to go a very different direction.

Get your mind out of the gutter, i’m not rhat kind of guy.
Tut! Tut!
Wow, slammer, very Charles Rennie Mackintosh! Is that just paint, or is it stained glass on mirror? Gorgeous…you could sell those.
No, one design is inspired by elevator doors in the Chrysler building, fell in love at first sight. The other is from a gate and one is taken from a Victorian window.
I vector them in Illustrator and cut out the shapes on a cutting plotter.
The material is holographic and other cardstock and it was a very steep learning curve.
let me show you ‘my thing’
allegories of countries, (guess which ones, and find the allegoric meaning of each feature)
These are acrylic on paper…
and… “Selfie with passport…oder?”
(acrylic on canvas)

My thing in Florida was making shell mirrors…these things sell in the local markets for hundreds, so I decided to make my own. Then I started making them for charity auction and had a lot of fun doing it. It takes special adhesive–E6000–otherwise the shells won’t stick to anything. I used real fresh-water pearls, and many of the shells were collected on our local beach. (Excuse the finners!)

I would hang that on my wall.

Very nice. The colors seem quite similar, is that natural or did you treat them in some way to get those colours?
all natural, some polished from the outside to the nacre. The result is very pretty peachy-cream colours. It’s supposed to look like the shells washed up on a beach, with the pearls nestled into the nooks. I kept two for myself; never get tired of looking at them.
