A good colleague of mine is leaving his post after two years in Switzerland and going back to his home country on Friday. We wanted to get him something as a leaving gift and Ideally we wanted to get him something with a Swiss association but he already has the obvious Swiss watch and a Victorinox knife. Anybody have any bright ideas?? I guess the budget would be about 200CHF. Many thanks in advance for your thoughts!
Hi all,
Cuckoo clock
Supply of Migros/Coop shopping bags
Faux 1000CHF banknote encased in lucite
Plaque commemorating "I Somehow Survived die Schweiz"
Dictionary of Swiss German
Canvas print of a Swiss cow? With bells on.
Mountains probably slightly more tasteful.
Cuckoo Clock with the Swiss Music.
Leather shorts?
A swiss flag.
A Freitag bag.
Pay the 200 CHF 'returning your B permit' fee for him.
I don't know if it is too much of a female present (but if he is married I am positive, his wife will approve!), but Glasi at Hergiswill (just outside Luzern) has very nice glass things. It is a very Swiss thing with its own story. Definately worth a visit situated beautifylly at the Vierwaldstättersee (got museum, workshop, showroom/where they work, glas labyrinth, funny things for kids inside as well as outside, restaurant, bar at the lake etc). It is really for anyone and their products are great and within your budget (and they got a 2.hand glass shop too where all the products are sold at half prise due to tiny, tiny small faults).
Hope you get to find something right for him...
Depending on how they are moving, a nice Swiss fondue pot or Raclette maker.
Fondue set or cheeky number from Beate Uhse
Or a proper absinthe fountain with a bottle of the stuff.
How about http://www.matrouvaille.ch/home_english.html . They specialize in Swiss gifts that are a little different, and make up custom packages too.
I've got one of these - top quality and it'll last for years...............

[QUOTE=Ebeneezer;1221991] They do not produce ANY bags in Switzerland. Some are form China/Hong Kong/Taiwan, others from the US.
