Get the woolies out. Minus 15 C! ![]()
Got anything in English or French?
Seriously?
Numbers are the most confusing thing in foreign languages, mate.
Far from everybody knows arabic.
Well, we’ve been under fog for the last few days as well as it being frosty, but we had to go out today and when we got past the fog what a glorious sight! Everything covered in a thick frost shining away in the sunshine. Picture postcard white Christmas. ![]()
Is that lake partly frozen or does it just look as if?
Very stormy here this afternoon, dark, wet, unpleasant.
Today is the first day in a long time we haven’t sat outside in the sun (with appropriate lammfell, etc.). It was overcast with a tiny bit of sun and föhn, and now the snow is coming, down to 1000m.
Rain and very strong winds rattling our windows down in the flat lands.
I’m still trying to figure out where you live. Austria? Switzerland? In the mountains? Not here with us fog-people obviously.
In the Wild West of the western Austrian mountains, where they speak a variation of Rätikon dialect, but the dialect is also part of the wider Alemannic language history. We lived all over CH for 10 years, though, including in OW, AI, SG, NE, and BE. My favourite was Engelberg. I am a mountain girl.
Sihlsee. Frozen enough if you weigh under one kg.
People were walking on the Southern end of Sihlsee on Sunday.
This is the other side. There was not even a closed ice cover. The upper, Southern end is very shallow in winter as they empty the lake to a large extent, so freezes much faster.
Yes, same here. Got more windy as the day went on then the rain arrived; just spitting at first, but heavier now. Forecast to turn to snow if the temps drop enough and the rain continues overnight.
not giving up, still festively lit. That’s the spirit.
No wind here overnight, but snow softly softly falling.
Was still raining when we went to bed, though the wind had died down by then. But during the night it all cleared off. Could see the stars. A bit frosty, but clear sky this morning and sun will be out once it rises.
