Bright sunshine, third day in a row. Lovely, life seems completely different.
Let’s not forget to mention that too.
And if it’s only to remind us should it all turn grey again.

And if it’s only to remind us should it all turn grey again.
Which it inevitably will.
Fortunately not for a few days at least so we get to enjoy the sunshine for a while longer.
Yeah, it’s been a bit frosty here first thing in the mornings, but the sun soon burns it off and we have nice sunny, warm days.
Wow, the sun is really strong. I went to have my coffee outside and I lasted 15 mins before I started to feel sunburn on my arms.
it’s great. I wore a tshirt today.
My first BBQ of the year yesterday
Too warm on the sunny side, cold on the other.
Ah well, at least there’s something to complain about.
The snow is back!
The snow line is down to 600-900m during the next few days.
Clouding over here so hopefully the forecast rain is on its way.
Not looking nice in some parts of Switzerland for tomorrow.
Some warnings for the end of afternoon today: lightning, wind, rain snow. Mainly for the Alps, but also Jura. Take care.
Some rain this morning, nice sunshine this afternoon, but clouding over again now. More rain forecast for the next few days for us.
It’s snowing
Valais is on alert this Thursday, while bad weather disrupts a large part of the canton. As a security measure, all Valais schools have remained closed. A decision taken by the cantonal authorities and applied uniformly, including in less affected areas such as the district of Monthey.
Woooo, the snow.
No train link between Brig (Valais) and Milano](https://www.sbb.ch/fr/informations-voyages/information-trafic-ferroviaire/situation-exploitation-perturbations.html?poiid=860652). So, all passengers between Bern and Milano have to go through the Gotthard rail tunnel.
Simplon Pass is closed. Grand St. Bernard road + tunnel closed too. TCS says the only open routes are Gotthard and San Bernardino.
Hopefully the snow or rain don’t reach the Gotthard motorway. There’s 11 km of cars stuck there.
That’s a long detour, via Bern and Luzern/Zurich
Lots of snow, an avalanche closed the Grand St. Bernard road.
Press release from the Swiss Federal Roads Office.
A21 Grand-St-Bernard: Closure due to avalanches
Bern, 17.04.2025 — An avalanche occurred today in the Toules tunnel on the A21 Grand-St-Bernard. This tunnel will remain closed until the damage has been inspected and user safety is guaranteed. The closure of this tunnel temporarily interrupts the connection with Italy. The Simplon Pass (A9) is also closed.
If its not the snow closing the roads its the fascist police.
