30cm due here up-top (2000m)…not enough to save ski season. 
Edit: rescue heli just went up there–what the hell would someone be doing in this weather (high winds, snow blowing already)??
Just rain here but the temperature has dropped significantly.
Windy and rainy/snowy Wednesday and Thursday forecast.
The sun is shining, It’s a lovely warm spring day. The garden is looking good, with daffodils, primula and pansies in bloom,. The fruit trees are in flower, potatoes are starting up, barlauch and spinach are almost ready to harvest.
And…
We are expecting snow with a killer freeze.
Sigh…
Always happens, @Melloncollie. Boomerang weather hits the lilacs, narcissus, and especially all the fruit trees around these parts. The lovely Ursula’s massive cherry tree is ready to bloom a week ahead of schedule.

Sort of a good news, bad news day
Every year at this time we get a bird in a tree near our house that sings beautifully all night and it was here for the first time tonight
Today I also got my first mosquito bite of the year.
Crazy weather, snow forecast for Thursday.

I will take a look tonight but it is dark…
Their songs are totally different, but if it sings literally all night, it’s probably not an amsel. Ours start at around 4:30 a.m. and sing all day until the sun is really down.
He starts about 9pm and is still going strong when I take the dogs out around midnight
Ahhhh, so it’s called Amsel in German. Thanks. I really enjoy watching them from the balcony. The way they pull worms out of the ground is almost a performance.
Back to the weather, strong wind and mix of rain and snow tomorrow afternoon. I got a cold, so not going outside anyway haha

Strong winds now arriving from CH. I tied up 10 narcissus clumps just opening so they wouldn’t blow to the ground. Snow on the way.
Snow in whirling dervishes, at times blizzard conditions. I can hear the avalanche explosives every few minutes. Plenty of gorgeous skiing the next couple of weeks. The lovely Ursula’s magnificent 20-foot cherry tree is now covered in (pink) snow; it was almost in full bloom, and I fear this wind will ruin it.

Do you think there will be still good skiing options on Easter weekend within 2 hours driving from Zurich? Kids almost didn’t ski this winter for various reasons and there are plenty of relatively cheap apartments available at the ski resorts (Laax etc).
It looks promising, no-one can honestly say more than that atm. I would fix on somewhere north facing and ski area above 1500m.
We planned to be in the mountains too and might take skis if the snow looks likely.
Beautiful sunny weather today
Yesterday I posted we had fish knusperli for lunch, we finished drinking wine and rum and smoking cigars with the restaurant owner.
Consequently we decided to avoid alcohol today.
We took our dogs for their afternoon walk and ran into a neighbour enjoying the sun in his garden enjoying whiskey, wine and reefers then we sort of got drawn in.
At least we got home before it got dark.
Most of next week forecast over 20C
Rhein is 10 °C, so it will be a while before we take the plunge

Today will be sunny and “sehr warm” (very hot) according to Wetter Zurich. 22 degrees and they call that very hot. What a joke!
Well, it is for this time of year I suspect.
It is warm for April, they didn’t say it would be hot.
It’s my ideal sort of weather.
