Why not. They will customise anything for €2 million.
yeah, but it will be kind of toothless ![]()
Still, I’m kind of pleased my neighbour learnt to drive the Ferrari he seems to borrow on regular basis in a neighborfriendly way. He had a very hard time with the 90°-angle into his garage in connection with clutch and throttle for a long time which means it made us all jump. Plus you could hear him long before he reached town, acknowledging he’s coming home.
An electric version would do the trick and I wouldn’t mind seing it, they are a lovely sight.
According to this evening’s news this is not decided yet. They realized they underestimated the task. Apparently the got six months to find a reasonable solution.
I believe that the only thing agreed is those with a large increase they must pay in full by mid-year by paying in instalments.
But even if the will of the electorate is overturned it has raised awareness. For example the little old lady driving her 15 year old Nissan Micra thinking she wasn’t polluting much by driving such a small car. She has already ordered an EV, apparently.
Do you know how much you are polluting?
If anyone would like an app given federal and cantonal results there is one here Apple and Android. In all four national languages, but not English.
I suspect, even if she does have a small ICE, the overall carbon footprint of the little old lady will be much, much less than the owner of a large EV who jets off to the sun a couple of times a year.
In total, not just with your car, because that is a more important figure.
So you think raising awareness is a bad thing? My LOL was just an example.
No, not at all.
A person’s overall carbon-footprint is important and I don’t think people realise how other lifestyle choices may be negating any reduction in carbon-footprint from changing to an EV.
I think people should be encouraged to buy smaller (lighter) cars, and not just switch to EVs.
Although a large EV is vastly more efficient than an ICE (mainly because the energy conversion to kinetic does not generate much heat), there is still a carbon-footprint from burning fossil fuels to produce electricity.
I believe we are headed toward a 4x ‘No’ outcome. From my perspective, based on reading Swiss media while in the U.S., the ‘No’ camp appears to have been much better prepared than the ‘Yes’ camp. Additionally, many people I know are either planning to vote 4x ‘No’ or have already voted that way.
Well, Bowlie’s app delivered 4 times yes about a half an hour ago, now changed “Kündigung Eigenbedarf” to no. That took me by surprise (all those yes) but of course it’s definitely still too early. I think polls hadn’t even closed by the time of the first counts/projections.
On the other hand, loads of people - if not most - do it by mail.
I shared your opinion but now who knows, they might surprise me. While I typed this, even the mentionned “Eigenbedarf” changed back to yes!
I just decided I’m not gonna watch this all afternoon ![]()
Quite possible. Would be very bad looks for the government while not dramatic on substance, in my view.
I agree that at least the two rental laws are not very important as the change to status quo is limited. Same could be said about the health cost thing - I am not sure how valid the argument is that insurances have an incentive to push patients into stationary care in real life. It is doctors deciding this, not insurance companies, no?

Ifyou drill down to the commune level you will see a lot that have not yet declared their results. It’s like this every vote even the media reports.
As Yogi Bera (allegedly) said, ‘the opera ain’t over until the fat lady sings’.
Check back around 15 hours for final results.
Oh it looks like Basle City has approved Eurovision! All 3 communes reporting.
eeeck what an ugly typo on my part, I allowed myself to correct that. ![]()
As I said, I referred to the app Bowlie posted. No point to let the different institutes fight on here. So I’ll do it the old way: Wait until tonight and do something else.
About time the government notices that they’re not doing a good job.
On the other hand one mistake they make all the time for … ever, I guess: They put too much into one question and get a no, because some part can’t be accepted.
Imo it’s also not a good idea to put all projects on roads into one vote. Some might be good, others not necessary.
In our commune with aprox 160 voters no one can remember the last time someone voted in person. But each time the doors open at 10h and close at 11h. The counters spend that hour counting the mail ballots and then wait until 11h to report to Lausanne.
In our commune with almost 20 000 inhabitants they cancelled all ballot boxes except the one in Gemeindeverwaltung. Even the one in the old people’s home. People just don’t use them.
Well it’s final. 3 x Non, 1 x Oui.
Time for those in Berne to have a good think …
And a real Röstigrabund result.
Crazy. They deserve their tax rates.
Actually we learnt in October that the people from Basel will get tax-money back due to high surplus.
