many companies have this option of blocking some numbers
Or you could SMS the number and ask him to stop ...
One woman answered managed to answer the phone and said the spoke frence, witch she could speak a little, but after that the phone just wouldn't stop... she got hundreds of phone calls per day
So be careful with that...
excellent work... but it doesn't help stop the spam much. does it??
to the OP... its not all that expensive to call a CH fixed line from a cell in India. however. a real spammer would hear a fax tone and give up.
have you tried calling back? maybe someone just has the wrong number??
I found this news again, they were calling from Africa in these cases that were on the news (Tunis & Sierra Leone).
The ones who called back got very big amount taken from their phonebill, and one lady got up to 300 phonecalls per day!
The earlier information that was provided can help you articulate a better and comprehensive complaint to your landline fax provider as well as to the Telecom Ombudsman ( Ombudscom ) and / or BAKOM .
Sorry to be sceptical, but I have heard a lot of these stories(a.k.a rumours) where outrageous bills are charged...
AFAIK there should be only normal (or in this case) international charges. the premium services numbers have a different number format.
On the other hand being pestered with more calls once a phone number is found to be valid appears a lot more plausible but again I fail to understand the benefit a scamster would get out of it,
If you are actually worried about this being a hoax I am sure there are many free SMS sites e.g. http://www.smsseva.com/ (got that from google SMS India) from which you could safely send an SMS to the troubling number
I would advise be generic in your abusive message to the caller without divulging your number..just a message from Zurich would be enough.
A scamster will not know which number because the odds are very high they are targetting multiple numbers. On the other hand a genuine person will probably understand the context and hopefully correct his error.
In any case, the provider at your end has to be notified in order to commence investigations, possibly in conjunction with the purported network provider of the sender(s).
My advice to anyone affected by them is to just hang up and have patience.
Even better if you have a surround sound system is to start talking then put the phone next to the voice speaker (normally the single 5th speaker) I have an indian traing to sell me a new mobile phone, talking to the guys on american chopper for a good 15 minutes, never got another call again
about two days ago we started to get strange telephone calls from a Russian phone umber: 007495001234.
A recorded voice speaking English with a light Russian accent was saying the following sentece:
"Can you hear me...? May I speak to Mike, Mike Hutchinson?"
A quick googling showed that this recorded message is annoying people from all over the world. It is not clear what is the purpose of these weird calls, but nevertheless be aware of it. I am planing to call cablecom and ask them to block this number, and on worst case, I'll have to change my land line number.
