To be fair;
“Tesla vehicles are rarely stolen due to their advanced security features , high-tech connectivity, and low demand for parts.
The consensus is that the difficulty in stealing and reselling Teslas, combined with the ease of tracking them, makes them unattractive targets for thieves.
Glad you said that, because I would have said its a weird attack. Of course thieves would love them but they’re effectively giant paperweights without a connected Tesla account.
Just ended a two month hire of a Tesla 3. Impressions:
Loved the performance of the EV. Hated the electronics. This was compounded by not being able to use the Tesla App. Bent the front bumper -plastic shit held together with press studs. Navigation system- Gulf of America problem, why release systems that make the place and street names for anyone outside the USA? And speed limits not reliable - driverless cars???
A question. I used trickle charging on a normal household socket quite a lot. Why are the Type 2 wall chargers so expensive? Surely all it requires for a faster charge is for the household connection to have a higher current limit. 10Amp at 220 Volt is only 2.2 kW. So a normal kitchen circuit will be wired for higher than this.
You reminded me of the very rebel and hippie generation of Janis Joplin (I think the German cars were “a thing” even back then…
… Oh Lord, won’t you buy me a Mercedes Benz?
My friends all drive Porsches, I must make amends
Worked hard all my lifetime, no help from my friends
So, oh, Lord, won’t you buy me a Mercedes Benz?
I know that, but it doesn’t really answer the question. All you need (apart from the inverter) for faster charging is a circuit that will handle the larger currents. It looks to me that one is being overcharged for what is a fairly simple issue.
Interesting article on self driving tests of Lidar vs Camera based
Here is another article about this test which shows;
Tesla Autopilot appears to automatically disengage a fraction of a second before the impact as the crash becomes inevitable.
It would still count as an “Autopilot crash” as crashes that happen within 5 seconds of Autopilot being engaged count as Autopilot crashes. The community note was eventually removed from my article this morning, but AI Drivr and his “Tesla all-ins” never issued a retraction to their defamatory comments.
I could not live with a mouse without a scroll wheel. Anyway, there’s people out there who works with a Mac mouse without a scroll wheel and they tell this is great. They do their jobs and deliver results on time. So, how can I tell that their Mac mouse sucks?
Tesla is a bit similar. The interior is Nissan level at Audi price. Driving experience (cornering, braking) are underwhelming. These are downsides for me, but it moves people from A to B anyway. People arrives on time, transport friends and things with the car. So, how to criticize something that works?
That’s about the cars. Other stuff around Tesla (the company) is much more controversial, from subsidies to politics.
That’s not been my experience as a Tesla owner.
On here and the various Tesla forums people bitch and complain a lot, especially regarding things that should ‘just work’ like the wipers, cruise control, indicators etc…
Maybe there was more evangelism back in the day when EVs were new and Tesla was crushing it, but today its a different story.
Yes, I think you are right. There’s even a Criticism of Tesla Wikipedia page.
I mean, how many car manufacturers are so shit that they get such a page?
The safety and quality of Tesla cars and services have been questioned. There have been hundreds of reports of sudden unintended acceleration, brake failures, and “whompy wheels” – collapsing wheels due to faulty car suspension. These safety and quality problems have been compounded in the past by the poor wait times of Tesla’s customer service. Some features such as Autopilot, Full Self-Driving beta, and Passenger Play (a feature allowing riders to play Tesla games while in motion) have been criticized for their careless deployment. Critics have noted that some Tesla cars have had poor build quality due to rushed testing, leading to a high ratio of flawed vehicles. Others criticized the company’s “stealth” vehicle recalls, requiring customers to sign non-disclosure agreements.
Never seen a magic mac mouse. Windows and Linux user here.
I replaced all my mice decades ago with touchpads. Those things do what ever I want, where ever I want.
